Trump's election blindsided most folks, including me, and went against just about every prediction or common sense evaluation of his chances.

With all this talk about the voters going conservative in the upcoming mid-term elections, could the conservatives get blindsided the same way the libs did? I read a lot of stuff saying the Dems are going to get another wake-up call, but the Dems were just as confident in 2016.

What makes you think a red wave is more likely? Trump is getting results, but he's constantly saying goofy stuff and alienating people. Not to mention the 24/7 character assassinations by the MSM.

I'm not saying it won't happen, btw. In fact I dearly hope it will. I'm just wondering if the conservative confidence is warranted.

Both terms are already overused and it’s only May. I change the channel every time someone uses them and lose respect for the speaker. It’s so blatantly pushed by the respective parties and media mouthpieces that it became cliche in three months.

Direction of country polls show that most people are satisfied

Polls are also showing movement away from the left

I this k that is significant because polls Always u Der sample republicans

Plus, Trump has brought a lot of people who are u Der the radar to the voting booth

I think we will be fine

The problem is...

No one knows.

Dems and pundits are relying on history and polls for their blue wave.

2016 (and, to a lesser extent, 2004 and 2012) showed polling is in the shitter in terms of reliability and Trump took a big shite on history in 2016.

Absent war or economic crash, GOP will pick up Senate seats and likely hold a small majority in the House.

I don’t think any believe there will be a red wave . Most republicans feel like they will loose some seats in house and gain some in the senate. The only think that would be comparable to 2016 is if the democrats won the house by 15+ and senate by 4+ seats. I think both sides admit that the senate will favor the republicans.

I’m not sure one happens in the House.

However, the makeup of the Senate makes it likely to happen. 2/3 of seats up are blue and a number in states Trump won in 2016.

Because the MSM is not covering it, giving the insinuation any credence.

The primaries held in NC, OH, IN, WV
2 weeks ago for positions like Senate, House, Governor, etc did not lack in turnout at all for GOP. In fact in some races it beat/was on par with turnout in 2012/2014.

In the Texas primary even though Cruz was incumbent and expected to win a shite ton of GOP voters turned out. On the Dem side it was a big let down.

Possible ,but not likely. The Democrats have too many Senate seats to defend in Solid Red States and does not have the money in the coffers that the GOP does. The tactical mistake that the Democrats have made though is promising a "Blue Wave". Voters especially in the Progressive faction are expecting the House and Senate to flip along with "muh impeachment" and they will severely under-perform. When this does not happen mark my words that the sky screamers in the Democrat Party will seek a third party option and I think that they will split. Again I see the GOP will net a few Senate seats and the Democrats may gain a few House seats ,but not much will change.
