When did we start doing this?

In my opinion, you lose all legitimacy when you start blaming politicians, the NRA, and legal gun owners.

I’ve said the same.
This is on Cruz and his family.
The finger-pointing is partisan theatrics.

Yep.

That side is famous for not owning up to failures and deflecting them.

EXAMPLE #1: Hillary still hasn’t admitted that her losing the election was her own damn fault.

Because people like "team sports" and you can't demonize a bunch of folks leaning on individual responsibility

They completely failed. Pretty much fact.

Dems blame guns.

Pubs blame the perp and the law enforcement that failed in every phase.

I generally agree, but this kid is all kinds of messed up. Considering all the baggage he was carrying, the fact that his mom died in November must have been the fuse that sent him fully down the spiral.

Because this is the biggest failure in law enforcement history. I’m guessing the murderer was bewildered he wasn’t stopped. Scott Israel and his cronies are pathetic and should be publicly flogged.

This entire thing started when unhinged lefties blew up at republican politicians offering condolences. Now that it has come back to negatively reflect upon law enforcement ( who the left has a brand new affinity for), we get OPs like this.

Why his family? Mom and dad both dead.

Brother (not sure if biological or adoptive) and at least 1 cousin informed law enforcement he was going to kill people.

It’s all on Cruz. But law enforcement has a lot of explaining to do. They appear to be complicit.

Ultimately true but if you think the others shouldn't be scrutinized and called out for not acting on warnings I'm not sure what to say.

As far as the political part of it that also has been around for awhile. One side wants to infringe on constitutional rights and that will invite strong opposition.

IMO,the failure of the police, needs to be brought up,because, It needs to be perfectly clear to EVERYONE,that you can't depend on the police to help you.
Get yourself a gun,and you will have a fricking chance.
No fricking gun= no fricking chance.

But yes,the shooter is entirely responsible.

The mother fricking sheriff's department had a fricking program to reduce minority juvenile arrests.

A minority juvenile never got arrested after a couple dozen visits. The FBI apparently took the tips they got and wadded them up and shoved them up their asses.

FOUR of the sheriff's minions cowered outside the building during the shooting.

Just because you are okay with utter incompetence does not mean everyone is.

Odd that the msm isn't going in deep , on the shooter. When they thought he was a white supremacist, msm was all over that shite. Once they found out he wasn't a white supremacist, and that he liked to dress up like isis.. they are mum on that bastard.

Msm even scolded our potus for saying negative things about the shooter.

This x infinity!

You are a dishonest hack if you deny that didn't directly lead to the this.

There's no telling what kind of arrest record he "should have had".

Plus! the little mother fricker got expelled with purposefully lenient rules.

Everyone gets a trophy (pardon).

The liberals have to be careful attempting to goad the SCOTUS into ignoring stari decisis in relation to Heller decision.

Brother Clarence would love nothing more than for the court to ignore stari decisis to rule on abortion again.

If Ginsburg is forced to retire, get ready for fireworks.

This was a big pile of societal fail along with the kid being an insane psychopath.

Parents failed. Clearly this kid should have been locked in a psyche ward long ago.

School failed. Should have pleaded with social services to take this kid away years ago.

Security? Great job hanging out in your car as 17 kids are murdered.

Police. 39 calls? Really? They should have locked the kid away or turned him over for evaluation. Also, at some point they should peruse the gun registry to see if the nutbag was locked and loaded.

FBI. This is almost the most unforgivable because these are supposed to be the best and brightest of our protective services. Maybe they get too many calls to track them all down but they did interview the guy whole called in the information so I don't understand why they didn't take the 2 seconds to view the video then move forward.

In short, yes, the little psycho deserves the main share of the blame but that is one huge pile of fail and it has nothing to do with gun control.

I keep saying the liberals should shut up about this one because clearly no gun law would have stopped this nut given the failure at every level.

If the police had arrested Cruz just once in the 39 times they were called on him, he would not have passed the background check, not have been able to purchase the gun, and would not have been able to murder 17 people.

If the armed resource officers had stormed the building rather than wait outside, they could have saved many of those students.

Cruz deserves the lions share of the blame, but those who had a chance to prevent it and didn't due to incompetence, cowardice, or straight up bad policy (school district coordinating with law enforcement to avoid arresting students for criminal activity in order to chase federal grant money).
