You can’t help someone that doesn’t want to help themselves.
quote:Talk about re-stating the obvious. Their end-game is your wallet. Interesting that their justification has never been articulated. It's a crude play on your innate sense of sympathy - if you're gullible enough to capitulate.
The “conversation” OP wants is only one that ends in more free shite for blacks.Because, you know, fairness.
Ironically, the world is so ready to help these guys, but throwing feces in the face of potential benefactors doesn't help their cause.

You must be the OP. Interesting.

Your responses have been pretty lame and generally off topic. Black on black crime and single parent homes are supposed to make people ok with unarmed black people being killed by police? Trumpkin logic.
Unarmed black people being killed by the police rarely happens and is not a major issue facing the black community. Like not even top 10
You focus on it like it is some massive issue just because some of the cops happen to be white.
Calling it as I see it. It's nothing but a race issue for you. Man up and admit it for once

To the OP, we fully understand what the protest is about... to bring more awareness about social injustices and in particular how police perceive or profile African Americans particularly African-American males.
History is history and we're dealing with unintended consequences of the past.
The more we continue to remind ourselves of the past the longet we stay in one place and unable to move forward.
if we want to have a conversation let's talk about character and behavior and calling a duck a duck if a black guy tries to take an officer's gun and ends up dead black people need to come out and say hey don't do that, instead we have these long debates about history and oppression and all the rest of it so it's divisive it's not helpful it's not helping whites understand anything about the black experience.

You guys have really lost it today...

You got destroyed. Just accept it like a man.

I said you're the OP. Equally as ignorant and willing to ignore facts placed before you when they don’t fit your narrative.

Just messing with ya.
This is all very stupid.
I actually allowed myself to be dragged to a bunch of open houses today to avoid the clown show.
More enjoyable looking at new homes than fighting like cackling hens.

Amoral people always start talking about statistics in conversations about human life.

More Whites are killed during arrests - per capita - than African Americans.

Finish school, get a job, don't have children until you're married. It doesn't matter what color you are, do those three things and you'll be successful in the United States.
The rest is utter bullshite. These are not some unattainable, pie in the sky goals.

quote:
Neither of these issues represent statistically significant problems in the communities where these players come from. Crime comes before incarceration. Want to stop jailtime? Stop doing things that can get you thrown in jail.
Heres the thing, the very policies that were supposed to reduce incarceration and improve the conditions of lower income and minority communities over time have failed to achieve that aim. So I see posts like this that try and blame the problem only on the people under the purview of those policies as at best short-sighted and incomplete.
To make no mention of the Broken Windows Policing theory, and it's many failures to achieve its stated mission over the 30 years it has been adapted in a large part of this country, and its effects on the communities it is used in, seems like a really avoidable blind spot in any discussion like this.
Which I think is one of the things the OP is speaking to with his mention of seeking a conversation about these issues.
Believe me, it is not impossible to acknowledge that structural components derived from long-standing policy affect the people that live under them. Trump just won an election claiming he could fix everything about anything by implementing his agenda, his policies. Yet for some reason, on this topic, there is an avoidance of discussing the policy component to this issue.

Unsure if racist but players can go f themselves
If a Warrick Dunn type kneeling would be one thing he has the I did something to help credibility
I am aware there is an issue
Come with solution

I'm not sure I see many instances of the Broken Window Theory actually put into practice.
