They just don’t want terrorists on airplanes
According to the article, pictures are only being taken of people leaving the USA.

I don’t believe years pass between the government taking/collecting pictures of US citizens.
Well labeled pictures?
It does, that data is super scarce.
It's about matching an ID to a picture, random pictures of people won't help train models.
For example, you could add a small colored square in all your facebook pictures, it would throw off any ability to identify you off of those.
But a picture taken of someone directly by the govt then matched to your passport that's great data.

I don’t really care for the way the government is trying to circumvent privacy laws and overstep their authorities, but I don’t do anything they would give a shite about so I don’t feel like it’s going to affect my life all that much if they take my picture at the airport. They’ve probably already had me on video a million times before that so it’s really a waste of time on their part.

Well immigration at DFW was doing this at least three years ago. No showing your passport on arrival, just filter through the booths as it takes your photo and links it to your passport
Do you think this was faster than showing your passport? I haven’t flown internationally since I had kids.

I have a problem with the government tracking lawful citizens. I don’t see how this helps with security.
Glad to see you're onboard with abolishing the ATF.

Plenty people here are extremely vocal about their disapproval of strangers using the wrong bathrooms
You certainly have a peculiar way of spelling depraved perverts.

It seems like playing with fire to me. The whole slippery slope thing.

Yet I bet you were all about the Biden Administration having mandates for the COVID vaccine and if you didn’t get the jab you were the devil and you should lose your job for refusing to? Am I right

I can't remember the last airport, let alone major airport, I traveled through that didn't have the facial scans / photos in security.

The government collecting pictures of citizens living their lawful lives isn’t a big deal?
Well, I agree to a point. Other than here and truth social, I do not do a lot of Social Media due to wanting to remain as private as I can in this electric eyes and ears world.
If you are active on FB, etc. and have SIRI and Alexa in your life, there is no reason to complain about this.

It's not there, not in the way needed for image recognition.

Hell no. American immigration is horrible. Paris, Dublin, Frankfurt, Tokyo make every U.S. port of entry I’ve been to look like third graders were running things
