Someone tell that frick, this is not how it worked. Global economy has many more variables then the supply-curve equallibrium chart.
And the 10th car and 1000th car are not the same cost to manufacture.
Also, production increases as demand increases to figure out how that will effect the supply to create an equilibrium at that given intersection based solely on those specific parameters.

It's not even that. The supply curve grows because suppliers are more willing to sell goods as price rises.

I’m gonna go out on a limb and guess that even back then, rich people were manipulating the market way more than he imagined. The rich get richer in the stock market, and keep the poor poorer via manipulation and restriction of access.

How about, I dunno, maybe the first car costs more than the 100th due to something as simple labor inefficiency which will decrease with each car manufactured.

To me he is saying that the 10th car is not the same cost to produce as the 10,000th.
He is pointing out a fallacy or oversimplicity in the graph.
That's how I read it tho.

I doubt that straight line linear functions were ever “taught” as definitive relations in any eco class.
However, i can see that silly graph being used to make a point about intersections.
