What Massie and Paul say sounds great. I wish we had 435 members of congress who thought exactly the way they did.
What about Trump?

Among some myths and misunderstandings, the GOP wouldn't include cuts from the DOGE savings because THEY THEMSELVES were also party to benefiting from the USAID $$$ laundry schemes.
Say what you want, but I don’t know how you can be happy with what has happened since the inauguration in terms of getting spending under contr.
We were all so excited, and what did we get?

Well do you? That was the 2 choices we had. One or the other.
Other people were on my ballot. I voted for one of them. I imagine others did as well.

quote:The government is not. You act like china is producing stuff with slave labor and then selling it here at cost plus 10%. They're not. They are selling it here a couple dollars cheaper than the American product and banking all that profit.
If you want to order a rifle scope made in China, why should the govt be moderating your your purchase and punishing you for wrong think?
China makes a hammer for $5. American made hammer is 35$. China doesn't sell their hammer for $5.50. They sell their hammer for $29.95 and they profit s the $24.45... When the 100% tarrif hits them, their 30 dollar hammer is now 60 dollars and doesn't sell. So they lower the price of their $30 hammer to $15. The tariff doubles it to $30. Their hammer still sells and they take a $9.50 profit instead....

Then you will lose.
Context: We won't compromise on NOT calling out BS policies and bills and phantom "disclosures" (like the Eppy Files / JFK files) when we see them.
IF we "lose", we won't go down without a fight.

We have a HUGE spending problem, we agree. Thing is we didn't get here in 100 days. What makes you think we fix it in 100 days. Same as the guy who is 300 pounds over weight is not going to lose all that weight in 100 days. If he cuts back eating too much, he will quit because it is too painful. You have to lose it slowly like you gained it. Same with the debt, we have to work our way up.
Please watch the interview.
Desperate times, desperate measures. The Big Beautiful can is being kicked down the road AGAIN. Congress isn't serious. And neither is the President about reducing spending. Period.

Why do you people always have to bitch and complain about every darn thing.

It's exactly what tariffs are. To usurp your choice to purchase for less.
Why do you need an intermediary?

What is the #1 job of the Federal Government? Protect the country and borders, right?

Not protect massive corporations through tariffs. Its to protect you from invasion.

Whats the purpose of Trumps tariffs? Is it not to change consumer behavior to purchase domestic?
(There are about 6 stated ones, you can pick any)

No one did, Progressive.
The job of govt is to NOT interfere with trade between two companies or individuals.

What about Trump?
Trump is not an ideological purist like Massie or Paul. He knows compromises need to be made to get what one wants.
This is like asking "What about Cristiano Ronaldo" while discussing American football.
But you don't argue in good faith, so i am out on any future replies you might post.
