Very simple answer to this one. It's because it's all true. He can't deny it. For fricks sake he texted with Hunter about the underage girl.
I don't know what the answer is here for Joe. He's toast. If you don't say anything it looks like you're hiding from it and if you do say something you can't rightly deny what clearly happened. They've got these frickers nailed down tight.
