So balancing the budget and creating a surplus ruins the economy? You sure it was the fiscal irresponsibility of the bush administration? Especially since it was so deep in bushes term everything fell apart

Gotcha so I wonder why it didn't melt down during clinton's term if it was his fault?

who do you think works more on "vacation," trump or obama?
No idea and couldn't really think of a way to know. If imagine as president you're vacation is just a pretty background to dealing with same shite.

also, trump isn't taking a salary.
We can factor that in as well what's the salary 400k?

Everyone earlier in the thread insisted that consequences of Trump's actions are immediate and the payback happens instantly.
Yet here we are discussing something that Clinton caused by pushing the every american as a home owner that didn't really start falling apart until years after he left. When he left office shite appeared pretty good actually.
Then of course the bottom falls out later on and it's pretty clearly a combo of his policy and general greed gone wild.
Also a great example of how complex and long term economic changes can be. If it's a quick change it probably didn't change shite, if it's a big change it won't be in your term when you find out real effects.

At least you finally admit it when before you were in denial

Has Biden said how he would stop this virus? His entire campaign is revolving around covid19. Surely he has presented some new ideas.

Or perhaps I presented a simplified view so you would help illustrate my overall point in this thread through something most on here would be comfortable understanding, since a Democrat was at fault.

Oh yessir. He's got it nailed: everyone wears a mask, and he will "listen to the doctors". Boom
I don't know what expertise the doctors possess in terms of the entire U.S. economy, but that's the plan. Their advice to Biden will control everything....health, economy, international matters, etc etc. Pretty amazing eh?

Yes he plagiarized Trumps ideas

Could Biden play eighteen? If so, how many diaper changes?
I doubt it, but if it were under 18 then he'd be all over that.

quote:Other than the people who know trump all swear that hes a non stop worker whereas I don't recall anyone saying that about Obama. In addition to that, we can look at their work history. Trump is absolutely destroying Obama in terms of presidential accomplishments
No idea and couldn't really think of a way to know
quote:You would also have to look at the fact that trump's children are grown and how many of the grandchildren were on the trips. That would have to be weighted. I would want to know what tangible results came out of each trip. I'm pretty sure nothing substantive came out of the Spain or Africa vacations. In the end it's no contest. Obama was a complete waste
We can factor that in as well what's the salary 400k?

consequences of Trump's actions are immediate and the payback happens instantly.
Here's the bottom line: since trump reversed Obama's economic policies, the economy should have tanked under trump. Instead, it went through the roof. Everything was bad under Obama - consumer confidence, consumer spending, housing market, unemployment, welfare, etc. That all started to reverse very quickly once trump got in office. Trump did precisely what the president is supposed to do - get government out of the way and let the economy run its course. Before the outbreak comet there were more jobs than there were people looking for jobs. That is the complete opposite of what was going on under Obama

So when we enter this recession coming up you agree Trump will be responsible for it since his policies are taking such quick effect?
Posted on 9/6/20 at 3:23 pm to oklahogjr
quote:not necessarily. it is possible for your policies to be a hindrance to the economy thus being a contributing factor to a recession (obama, clinton) and it is also possible to get govt out of the way yet a recession still happen for other reasons. trump has already done his part. the rest is up to us and congress.

it's like blaming trump for the violence "under his administration." yeah, nevermind that it's happening in cities controlled by democrat policies and he's letting them live in it
