But a new report like this will simply fuel the teachers unions to stay shut down.
I am for the teachers union to stay shutdown. We need to replace the current crop of indoctrination.

Come on man! Don’t be so xenophobic. China is an ally according to Joey B. We are the problem for not listening to the government.

Absolute madness . Sure let’s lock kids inside all summer . Bet more of them kill themselves than the muh variants will
Seriously in Denver after a mother fricking year they’re opening up the schools for the first time tomorrow. Last week had an Uber driver who told me that between her daughter’s classmates and her friends’ kids/classmates that she knows of 5 kids that have directly killed themselves in the past year. Not suicide attempts, but successful suicides. We fricked up these kids forever.

Jesus, my teenage step daughters are still afraid to go out even now. I can imagine the damage this “new strain” fear will push them over the edge.

You need to tell them to grow the frick up. More kids have killed themselves than died from this disease. Harsh words, but no kids are not at risk and if they cite their fear mongering lazy teacher, call the teacher a lying count to their face.

This guy has been ultra negative the whole time. Said there wouldn't be a vaccine until 2022.
Here is a link where he predicted we wouldn't have a very effective vaccine back in August LINK
Because of the vaccinations of the most vulnerable populations cases shouldn't matter anymore, only hospitalizations.

Some people right now have a view that any vaccine that isn’t like the measles vaccine is going to be a challenge, meaning they’ve got to work 93% to 98% of the time. I don’t think there’s any sense that that’s going to happen with this vaccine.

Believe me, I can tell them facts till I am blue in the face, makes no difference.

Despite an accelerating vaccine rollout, Dr. Michael Osterholm, a member of President Joe Biden’s coronavirus advisory board, said on Sunday that the U.S. will face "major challenges" in battling the pandemic before summertime, warning the U.K. coronavirus strain infects children more easily than previous strains—something experts are still debating. On NBC's Meet the Press, Osterholm, director of the Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy at the University of Minnesota, called the B.1.1.7 variant a "brand-new ballgame" because of how quickly it has spread among children, citing roughly 750 Minnesota schools that have reported the variant in just the last two weeks. Osterholm also suggested the U.S. may need to consider new lockdowns before school lets out this summer, saying vaccination alone won't curb rising cases in the next six to eight weeks and telling Fox News Sunday that "there isn't a country in the world right now that has seen a big increase in this [variant] that is not locking down."
Fresh new scare tactics coming. Think about our kids!
I'm not sure why they are making a big deal about this. I know of 100's of kids in town that got the kungflu over the last year and none of them skipped a beat. I know of at least 5 with diabetes that did not get phased. It has been well documented that getting infected isnt a problem, it is what are the repercussions of infection and to date they have been nill in the under 60 demo.

I don't get why the union leaders want the lockdown. Rank and file teachers hate virtual learning.

It says nothing about HOW this alleged variant affects children which likely means that even if it exists there ain’t jack to it.

If you still believe a word that the experts who push COVID fear say, it’s because you enjoy being scared. You need to be honest with yourself and seek professional help to understand why you have this personality disorder.
Same with man made climate change alarmists.

Their holdout has never been about Covid or the kids. The list of their demands had nothing to do with Covid

So the article notes that it infects kids at a higher rate but doesn’t mention the severity of illness or mortality.
If it infects kids but they only get mild flu like symptoms for a couple of days, who cares. Why would we start new lockdowns over that.
Other than the obvious nefarious political reasons.

I really do not understand people buying into the COVID fear narrative and keeping schools closed.
I’m in SWLA where kids have been in school for in-person instruction five days per week since August. Virtual learning was and is offered as an option for students, as well.
The CDCs guidelines contain the phrasing “to the greatest extent possible” to describe how closely any given school should strive to follow its recommendations for social distancing and sanitizing.
Our schools are following the guidelines to the greatest extent possible according to the community’s socioeconomic resources and personal risk tolerance.
That is to say, enough for it to appear as though the guidelines are taken seriously.
There are exceptions for parishes still recovering from hurricanes Laura and Delta but even those parishes have begun offering classes in some form or another.
No spikes in positivities, hospitalizations, or deaths have occurred either in the student population or among teachers. The communities themselves have not experienced spikes in these numbers, either. COVID’s seriousness is an overblown scam.
I don’t doubt that people have gotten very sick and even died from it.
I DO doubt the number of deaths touted by MSM.
Send the kids to school.
Go to church.
Attend ballgames.
Buy groceries in person.
Enjoy a meal at a favorite restaurant.
Throw your masks in the trash.

Will they be locking down the border to save the children?
