WASHINGTON, DC – The Biden administration argued in a Supreme Court immigration case Tuesday that states have no standing to sue the federal government over illegal immigration policies, and courts lack the power to strike them down anyway.

The Biden administration argued in response states have no standing to bring such a lawsuit at all in court, and courts lack the constitutional power to do what the states were asking anyway.

Now it’s our job to say what the law is, not whether or not it can be possibly implemented or whether there are difficulties there,” Chief Justice John Roberts said to U.S. Solicitor General Elizabeth Prelogar. “And I don’t think we should change that responsibility just because Congress and the executive can’t agree on something that’s possible to address this problem. I don’t think we should let them off the hook.”

Telling SCOTUS “You have no power here” isn’t a winning argument unless you go full Andrew Jackson.

Hell will NEVER be hot enough for the lot of them.

Maybe he meant - they CANNOT because he knows they are controlled and compromised?

If they meet the law, he's right. If they surpass their authority, he's wrong.
Trump should have told the court to pack sand on DACA.

Even if the court strikes down immigration policy / law, who is going to keep Biden from just ignoring the ruling?

So why are you even standing before the Supreme Court, then?

It becomes the Congress's job to impeach if his executive won't uphold their oath.

by the King's edict, courts no longer have the power to strike down laws. let the writ be sent to all provinces in the realm.

Ask Richard II how that worked out for him, along with having blank statements that every noble in the land was forced to sign and give him.

It is 1000% a winning argument for democrats. They're looking for any way possible to subvert the SCOTUS until they can pack it enough to where they'll never have to worry about it again.

If the courts are no longer respected, people give up on things being done in a just manner.
If that happens, shite’s on. And it will be very bloody.

Unfortunately, we’re not that far away. There are corrupt judges and lawyers everywhere. Elections being stolen and those who question it are vilified and/or threatened.

Immigration is something that needs to be codified in our constitution. It's literally mentioned nowhere, because at the time, people were essentially free to come and go at their leisure. It was only after the influx of Chinese railroad workers into the west, and criminals from eastern Europe that they started to curtail it. Later in the 1920s that they started capping other nations with quotas to ensure a solid western European immigration pattern.
It wasn't until the 14th amendment (to deal with slavery) that citizenship was defined, as a person born or naturalized in the United States.
So how does SCOTUS determine the constitutionality of something that's not defined? Do you apply the states vs federal rights clause? That would seem to be a total mess, as some would allow for open ended immigration and others would close their borders immediately. But once in the US, then other states have no choice but to accept their movement due to the interstate clauses.
We've come a long way since this:
Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame,
With conquering limbs astride from land to land;
Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand
A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame
Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name
Mother of Exiles. From her beacon-hand
Glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command
The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame.
"Keep, ancient lands, your storied pomp!" cries she
With silent lips. "Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"
Perhaps they should update it to read
Give me your educated, your wealthy,
Your entrepreneurs with wealth yearning to invest,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Keep those, the homeless we don't want, tempest-tost will hopefully fall off the boat,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door as long as you have a skill we require!

Didn't Biden already ignore SCOTUS ruling (s)?
SCOTUS let the State of PA do as they please to assure PA would go into the D's column. Anything to make Trump go away.
Remember, SCOTUS stepped in and elected GWBush.
