The former congressman from El Paso talked to Texas Monthly about why he thinks he can beat Greg Abbott, whether he regrets his 2020 presidential campaign, and whether his politics are too liberal for Texas.
quote:
For months, Texas Democrats have failed to field a single serious candidate to challenge Governor Greg Abbott’s reelection bid. But today, Beto O’Rourke is announcing in Texas Monthly that he is entering the 2022 gubernatorial race. The former three-term congressman from El Paso who had run losing bids for U.S. Senate against Ted Cruz in 2018 and for president in 2020, is not expected to face any serious challengers for his party’s nomination. He will seek to become the first Democrat to win statewide office in Texas since 1994, ending the longest statewide losing streak in America for either party.

He can eat all the sacred dirt he wants, but he's still a frick. How anyone can even get behind this incompetent child of a candidate is pure amazement.
Deep state had a big win when they fricked up the schools around WWI, this dude shouldn't even be in the conversation. But he doesn't go away, a key trait of their radical candidates.

Good luck in Texas, buddy

They've been shipping in millions of refugee votes, unless Texas fixes its voter laws, it's fricked.

He's the Justin Trudeau of Texas.
That's not a compliment...

Its his chosen job to run for office. He has nothing else to do and it pays well and is a lot easier to do than most jobs. Well...most days!

Beto voted against relief for Hurricane Harvey victims in 2017.

He's going to get trounced in today's political climate, and will be tied to all that is failing from the democrats which is vast and one he won't be able to overcome.
Unless of course they have inched closer to a major theft of the office?

Anyone voting for this putz is an idiot.... unfortunately we got a lot more of those in TX now.
Biggest concern is the down ballot where people will be out to vote. Probably why he got in as he helped get a lot of dumbasses in place last time. Not to win, but money to come in to get the down ballot.
Repubs better fill it all out. I never really understand how #s don't match up from top down.

Beto couldn't beat Ted Cruz (who has a popularity rating of -350) in a year when the Dems made huge gains in Congress.
So now he thinks he beats Abbott, who IS popular? (Especially among Hispanics, Beto is a fake Hispanic while Abbott married a real one)
Beto's only chance to win is he needs to hope Abbott loses in the primary and, as a result, most GOP voters sit out the general election or vote third-party.
