Seems to me she is saying today's Christians aren't Christians and the gospel fails to resonate with those who need it because of the conduct of today's Christians

She is likely a disciple of the Jim Wallis' version ("God's Politics") of activist, SJW Christianity.
Jesus was pretty straight forward re worldly affluence, advising those who want to rise high in the heavenly hierarchy as opposed to Worldly to "sell all that you have and give it to the poor". Of course - as it is with Biblical/Theological rationales - one can find a rationale to defend one's chose path of belief and action.
This single life is quite short, in the Big Picture. How - or even if - we are born into another one is really all that matters, because that establishes our course for future prosperity...or (Spiritual) calamity.
For a true Christian...Charity is one of the most satisfying acts there is. Real Christians know this; and probably don't need a Book to learn it from. "Many are called...yet few are chosen".
As long as Wallis'/Moore's version of Christianity applies COMMON STANDARDS of moral behavior to ALL - especially those who claim a moral entitlement ("social justice" Marxist Ideology) from their peers - I have no problem with it. But what I heard from AOC the other day, re subsidies going to those "who are not willing to work"...well...AOC had best polish up on Her shooting skills. She'll need em'; Commies always have to go "the barrel of a gun" version of persuasion, trying to sell the above version of 'morality'.

Not sure what she meant by that statement. I do know that my wife and many other women in our church have done many of her Bible studies and attended conferences with her as the keynote speaker. I have watched some of her teachings along with my wife. She is as solid as they come. She teaches the Word unapologetically. I'm sure that is offensive to some, but the gospel is offensive to some.

It hasn’t changed even if she believes in her view that some people have not abided by it.
That’s no reflection of the Gospel.
An analog would be The Constitution. The Constitution just says what it says. Any individual or group that unjustifiablely bends it or breaks for their means didn’t alter the text, they just didn’t abide by it.
The Constitution dindu nuffin.
