These states had the highest percentage of outbound moves:

New York (66.4 percent)
Illinois (62.5 percent)
New Jersey (60.6 percent)
Louisiana (60.1 percent)
West Virginia (59.8 percent)
Nebraska (58.3 percent)
Minnesota (57.9 percent)

These stats don’t seem to back up what we are being told

Best states to live for what? Getting mugged? Oppressed by dictator like local government?

Probably the first and only poll of this type to be won by New Jersey.

I can understand all of those but New York and Pennsylvania. Guess I need to learn more about those states.

The worst states to live in are probably WV, Louisiana, Mississippi, and New Mexico.

That is contrary to everything I've read. La. is static. Outbounds and Inbounds are low. That's why the pop is flat line.
Nevada is extremely outbound and it's not on the list. It has an equal inbound so it is No. 1 in 'non birth residents.'

Missing out! Utah, Wisconsin, New Hampshire, and Idaho are great states.

New Jersey is often defined by stereotype. Most of it is nice suburbs. Only a few shitty areas like Camden/Trenton and Newark.

I live in New Jersey now. Can't really help that, it was a necessity for my wife's job. It's not a place we would have chosen otherwise. The only one on that list I might choose to live in would be New York, and that's only because I grew up Upstate. A summer spot up there would be cool, to live there year round, not so much.

Trenton isn't that bad. Get out into the surrounding areas and it's rural-ish suburbia.

Nah, it's not nice. It's correctly stereotyped.

PA has no state tax on retirement income, definitely a plus.

Chester County is really nice too.

I would say that the state itself is incorrectly stereotyped. The people up here, however, are correctly stereotyped as low class, abrasive assholes.

This is a joke, right. There are more New Yorkers moving south because of the taxes.
