Thanks a lot guys. If proton is overseas, ill stay away.
I might do a Reagan.com acct for friends and family alone. Then a diff account for bills, memberships, etc. The 2nd account might be patriot, parler, or something.
Definitely not msn, yahoo, and the like.

ProtonMail is designed with the principle of zero access and zero knowledge, which means that the email servers and staff that work with them have no way of reading or sharing your emails.
Based in Switzerland, ProtonMail data is protected by the Swiss Federal Data Protection Act (DPA) and the Swiss Federal Data Protection Ordinance (DPO), which offers some of the best privacy protection in the world. In the unlikely case ProtonMail was ordered to hand over user data, it would have to be specifically subpoenaed by the Cantonal Court of Geneva or the Swiss Federal Supreme Court. And, even if user data were seized, it would be impossible to decipher because of ProtonMail's encryption.
ProtonMail’s servers are locked down under 1,000 meters of solid rock, in a Swiss bunker that can survive nuclear attack. And its digital security is about as impressive. It began development by a team of CERN Large Hadron Collider scientists in the wake of the 2913 Snowden leak and has since become the #1 most-used secure email service with over five million users.
Unlike Gmail or Outlook, email sent with ProtonMail is encrypted before it's sent to the ProtonMail servers. That means that no hacker intercepting emails sent from ProtonMail will be able to decrypt and read emails. ProtonMail's encryption and web interface are also open source, which has allowed experts to audit and confirm its high levels of security.

I’m new to protonmail but I like it so far
Yeah. I joined up. It looks like gmail, but is encrypted and they don't have an AI read your mail to garner information that they can sell.
It will take a couple of weeks for me to back out of google.

Those using it, are you using the free version of Protonmail or the paid version?

Thanks EKG, it sounds enticing. I might give it a shot.
What is the cost?

I’m on everything from COX — email, cable TV, internet, phone, WiFi and I have a gmail that I never use. Just as backup.
I’m happy with them. Don’t pay much more than cord cutters. And as far as I know COX has not gone full SJW — yet.

I'm keeping gmail open just to collect spam and take room on their servers. Never using it again though.

WiFi
Why do you rent a wireless router from Cox instead of buying one? Once the internet is inside your house you don't have to pay coz to transmit it wirelessly.
