Berkeley declares 'climate emergency' worse than World War II, demands 'humane' population

First thing out of Berkeley I agreee with.
I can think of a few nations to our south that could use crushed BC pills put into their water supply and who need condoms dropped like raindrops over them.

In addition to population control and a national mobilization effort, according to the Berkeley City Council, residents should avoid "consumerism" and "narcissism."

I think they should kill themselves for the greater good

If only the people living in Berkeley adhered to this.

We are flying into SFO in July to go to wine country. I keep telling my wife we are going through Berkeley and flying a Trump flag the whole way. We may start a riot

“Climate change” is a manufactured crisis designed to make people dependent on the government. The climate has been changing since the formation of this planet; it has very little if anything to do with us.

You trying to get shot? Oh, wait, they don't have guns in California. My bad.

The hypocrisy...

Not just dependent on government which is true, but it is designed to make an industry as powerful or more powerful than the Fossil fuel industry. The left is confident the green energy industry is their direct line to big funding and influence.

Unless you plan on visiting San Fran, it's much easier to fly into Sacramento. Its 5 miles further, but 30 - 40 minutes faster (depending on time of day).

quote:Exactly. And it's always amusing to bring that up when a prog is trying to argue of our impact on the climate, and we say, "what about the most recent ice age ten thousand years ago? Did we create that too?"

The planet is ever changing. During the dinosaur age, greenhouse gases were so high in concentration that flora grew to sizes never before seen, and dinosaurs evolved long necks just to reach the low hanging vegetation on these plants and trees. And all those gases disappeared too.
Change. It's what Mother Earth has been really good at doing ever since her creation.

Rubber bands can raise a hell of a welt though!

Yes we have family in San Fran

So not only is everyone fascist and the president literally hitler, but climate change is worse than the carnage of WWII. No one trivializes human misery like liberals.

The rate at which the climate is changing is unique by virtually any measurement taken, meaning there is at least a strong argument that human action is contributing to changing the climate.
That said, human action changes virtually everything we interact with every single day. Hell, the very foundation of society is that it consistently changes as a result of human action. We always find a way to deal with it. We’ll deal with a changing climate as well, and we don’t need to give over all of our power to government to do it. But we also don’t need to flat out deny the obvious truth that we have an impact on the climate.

Between this and the immense and constant tantrums anyone at Berkeley throws, I can’t take anyone or anything out there seriously.

pollution alone is a good reason to look for cleaner energy. Don’t even have to agonize over climate change to come to that conclusion. Liberals would probably be better served to make the air and water pollution argument.

Well, if they, Berkeleians, were really serious then why are they still driving? Why are the residents of Berkeley still using electricity? Why are they allowing themselves to use any internal combustion engines?
If this is such an "emergency" why are they still breathing? Why do they allow any pets who exhale CO2?
If there was such an emergency they would cease using anything and everything that increases environment greenhouse gases of all types and essentially go back to caveman living.

Berkley better worry about what else can be put in the water
This happened in Ohio on Monday
An estimated 9 kilos (just under 20 pounds) of fentanyl worth more than $3.6 million on the street was seized.
“What you’re looking at here is enough fentanyl to kill every man, woman and child in the Miami Valley,” DeWine said. “In fact, even beyond the Miami Valley. I think this is enough to kill 3 or 4 million in the state of Ohio.”
