A source close to Sessions told CNN that the country's former top law enforcement official was isn't ruling out running for his old seat in 2020 against Sen. Doug Jones, D-Ala. Jones replaced Sessions in the Senate via a fierce special election last year against Republican candidate Roy Moore, who was accused by multiple women of sexual misconduct. Despite the claims, Moore had been expected to win, given Alabama being a traditionally red state. Source close to Sessions says he’s “taking a serious look” at running in 2020 against Democrat @SenDougJones for his old Alabama Senate seat

Would consider once I hear more about why he’s been asleep for two years. Also at this point his tenure as AG was a failure, he was a very solid Senator.

With the human trafficking ops shut down, MS-13 scattered to the wind and spearheading Huber's army of US Attys in UT, you know what he's been doing.

Bradley Byrne (Republican Congressman) can’t be happy about this. He had his sights on that seat.

Not sure how I feel about Sessions being Senator as this point.

Given that so many on this board have claimed to despise Sessions during the last 2 years, I assume you would not support his potential Senate candidacy

frick Sessions. One of the biggest blunders of Trump's presidency, and I'm not even referring to the investigation.

Alabama voters were dumb enough to put Roy Moore in a general election and then make Doug Jones a Senator.

Sessions is a shoe in.

He spent a decade in the senate and then another two years as AG on top of that. Go home Jeff.

Are there no upcoming conservatives under 70 years old to hold this office for a couple terms?

There's an ongoing coup happening in our country and Sessions did nothing to stop it. In fact he helped facilitate it.

Sessions' resignation has zero impact on strong likelihood that he laid he groundwork for systematic dismantling of DS actors in Washington. Thiose of you who are hypercritical of him act like you're privy to everything done on his watch. There's still 61k sealed indictments that will be opened, whether AGJS is in charge at DOJ or not.

I’m a big advocate of Saban running for this seat

You are dreaming. Nothing is going to happen to the Clintons, her cronies or the people spying on the Trump campaign and presidency.

Sessions has been harder on immigration and gangs than any AG in our lifetime and it's not even close.

You're not giving credit where credit is due.

Would rather Sessions retire and let someone else run, but if the options are Sessions or Jones then I hope Alabama voters would pick Sessions all day.
