BBC interviewed the mother who was charged with neglect for letting 5 year old walk alone

Here is the background. She lives in Fords Colony in Williamsburg Va. Its an upscale gated golf community neighborhood. In the afternoons her and the son would go to a pond 500 yards from their house. She said he would ride his bike, sometimes 50 yards in front of her and she would watch him stop and look both ways at intersections before proceeding.

On this day; he begged to go to the pond to pick up some goose feathers, she told him to go ahead but come right back. Apparently a neighbor (probably a Jew with a flock camera....just kidding) called the security at the neighborhood and they came and picked up the kid who was on his way home.

Security informed her it is against HOA rules for the kid to be alone, she said not its not, he said fine then you broke the law and called the cops and she said fine. Two cop cars show up, child services show up and she is charged, although the six month sentence was dropped, and listed on the registry for child abuse and neglect.
