With Barr immediately broadcasting his summary of No Collusion/Obstruction for a month and not including Mueller's summary, it essentially undermined what Mueller had worked on for 2 years, which was to present to the public an open ended question to the obstruction case. From there, a democratic congress would go hog wild over the 10 "potential obstruction" counts and do everything possible to sway public opinion to proceed to impeachment. He knew damn well that there was no criminal evidence of obstruction, so he made the decision to leave it undecided so that congress could pull on the heartstrings of the general public.

But instead, Barr masterfully released the bare underlying conclusions, which led the public to be heavily in favor of NO impeachment proceedings (I believe the latest polls are >60% are against impeachment even with the full report released showing "potential obstruction")

So Mueller, pissed as hell that 2 years were flushed down the drain, panicked knowing the public would be against impeachment, leading him to he write the letters to Barr. This was all so that he could be on the record for today to try and inflict as much damage as possible onto Barr hoping that maybe impeachment will regain its pulse.

But that's just not going to happen. It is over. The month long victory lap that Trump and Republicans got to take before Mueller's obstruction "booby trap" in the full report was released was WAY too much to overcome for any sort of impeachment hearings to begin.

Bravo to William Barr.

Or the fact there is no obstruction to charge or impeach Trump.

Lindsey Graham just now -

"It is OVER. I'm not retrying the case, I'm not calling McGahn. It is Over."

Well right, but Mueller left it open ended on purpose knowing that democrats would go insane over 10 potential obstruction accounts. This was all about getting to impeachment through congress.

Barr closed the book on that by releasing the summary of underlying conclusions and not including the summary that Mueller wanted.

Public opinion was formed during that month and it killed impeachment.

It was a shrewd and smart play rarely seen executed by conservatives. If he simply released the report he allows the media to "write the summary". He neutered all of it in 20 minutes. Truly brilliant move

Maybe so.
But he was also upset that Barr and Rosenstein and most legal experts say Muller did not do his job.

Muller's job was to recommend charges, or recommend no charges be brought, to indict or not. PERIOD!

Mueller was given unlimited time, an unlimited budget, unlimited resources, and unprecedented access. Yet after two years and ~35 million dollars, he did not do his job.

So Bob Barr called him on it. Then Barr took the role as adult in the room, and made a decision. He appropriately left Mueller looking feckless and incompetent.

I just heard on my local Prog station (KGO radio) that Lindsey also said he would not ask Mueller to testify unless Mueller tells him that he disagrees with something Barr testified about today.

I could be wrong but I thought Graham was referencing the notes that were taken of the call between Barr and Mueller. Barr isn’t releasing them and Skeletor wanted to know why.

Graham said he’d talk to Mueller to see if would disagree with Barr’s recollection of said call.

The entire progtard shite show today was simply to try to sway public opinion.

I hope that the conservatives are willing to go after future sitting prog presidents with false accusations going forward.

The barn door is open. Let the horses run.

Sad thing is... Progs helped Russia with their objective.

The people actually colluding are the jack asses.

Yes. Which essentially means Mueller will not be testifying, neither will McGahn (due to executive privilege).

Today was the Dems last stand.

Clearly you do not.

Latest washington post poll showed support for impeachment had dropped to 37%.

And that's a Far left Fake news organization.

So it's not over for Democrats..?

but why is not over, I guess that's the real question?

Do they really think intent to obstruct the investigation but not actually obstructing is obstructing
