Seriously, wtf went through their heads to rule the way they did? This is a death sentence for America. Were they paid off or something?

Why? Adopted kids have nothing to do with birthright citizenship. Just pure ignorance.
Even if they did, her and her husband are citizens so they would still pass on their citizenship even under any other theory of conferring citizenship to children.
