In my opinion, Whitaker is the real AG pick. I think Gaetz is a feint to make the Dems and squishy GOP Senators waste their ammo during confirmation.

No real issue with Patel. My issue was that people bitching about Wray vis a vis Trump. Trump fires Comey, no problem there, hires Wray....at the time no one has a problem. Problem was he had no power to stop the Russia investigation because Sessions and Rosenberg kneecaps him by appointing Mueller. Those guys were essentially his bosses. A lot of damage to the FBI was done during Obama and with Sessions sitting on the sidelines until Barr came in.

Also January 6 does not do anyone any favors. Wray was compelled to do anything that Garland and Biden said for him to do....he could have resigned, but his replacement could have been far worse. Wray was also career. So he went native.

But no problem with Patel

For 12 of the last 16 years the dems have fricked around… they are now getting to the find out phase of that equation.
