The liberals who've suddenly discovered corporate rights in this vaccine passport debate will miss the irony here.

Partisan politics trumps ideology all day, everyday.

When private entities make policies that basically parrot the governments agenda, and are sometimes controlled by government like Fauci did with Facebook about the Wuhan lab leak, it’s by extension, still fighting big government.

It sure AF doesn't mean we shouldn't either.
That might be the worst reason I've ever heard for governments to not do their jobs.
You have it the complete opposite.
Just because the government at times overreaches, does NOT mean we should grant them additional opportunities to overreach.

Either a state will ban passports and get sued, or an individual will sue a company for requiring them. Government or no government, guess how this story ends?
It's going to end with private companies being allowed to do what they want here. Which is why this is all so stupid.

You mean like declaring that constitutional rights can only be violated by government? I stole that one from you.
Again... the bill of rights was meant to protect the citizens from their government, not the other way around, and nothing to do with private business.

So we have conservatives wanting an overbearing government and then telling people "if you don't like our overbearing government, boycott private business in our state".
True conservatism is dead. This thread is the eulogy.

It's been dead for a long time, which is why your fake arse "much principles" stupidity has no basis in the reality of today. These things all sound great in theory, but in the real world the left just does whatever the frick they want and continue to grow their influence in every last facet of society. You don't believe the crap you're posting in this thread has any chance of actually being allowed to work. No intelligent person possibly could. Maybe I'm giving you too much credit.

A law that says you don’t have to participate in a caste system, doesn’t mean it’s not conservative

When you have principles, you don't abandon them, you continue to fight for them and support them.
But most of you have no actual conservative principles, you just hate liberals, so I don't expect y'all to understand.
It's one thing for "conservatives" to throw their hands in the air and give up. It's another for "conservatives" to actually support liberal ideas like large government.

No one is supporting large government you fricking dumbass. I take it back, I was absolutely giving you too much credit.
Our society will get destroyed because you and others like you continue to believe its the 1800s. America will be destroyed but you'll have your principles to keep you warm at night.
And spare me the "America is already destroyed" bit I know is coming. You've never lived in an America based on the principles you refuse to bend.

You don’t know what conservatism is. You think it’s some libertarian ideas.

It’s not dead at all. I like gov telling businesses that they can’t ask for my papers.
What is the next set of papers they will require?
This stops that in its tracks. No slippery slope.
But, feel free to not visit Florida. It may not be for you. Try California perhaps. Or NY. They have papers.

How in the smoothe frick is me not having to carry around and produce private medical records every time I try to buy groceries or take my wife to lunch "overbearing government"? You realize not all laws grow government right?
Young democrats are so fricking next-level stupid, it makes me feel like there's zero hope for the future.

Passing additional laws to regulate business = increasing the size of government.
Next, some government agency will be tasked with enforcing this. It will start off with a few employees responding to complaints. Eventually, it will turn into employees posing as customers trying to trap businesses. Since there will eventually be fines for non-compliance, we will need an appeals process. More money and employees.
Look at how JBE was handling mask mandates, sending out state employees.
Moar government!

How do you feel, then, about government telling businesses they have to ask for an ID to sell alcohol or tobacco?

Correct. But this one does. See my response earlier about how this will lead to hiring agents and an entire system of enforcement/compliance.

I'm neither young nor a democrat. But you are right. How do you feel about mid-age small government and fiscal conservatives?

You mean like the vast army of enforcement officers that make sure the local grocer has handicap toilets and OSHA disclosures in the breakroom!?!?!
Idiot.
