Ban AR-15 trending on Twitter, hilarity ensues

If you haven't seen it, go read the first ten people in the trending on Twitter. I've already learned that the m-14 is the civilian version of the AR-15, only murderers need an AR-15, and there are a surprising number of former marines who think that the military doesn't even issue them because they're so dangerous. It's very enlightening

That ban doesn’t affect me. I lost mine in a boating accident last fall.
It’s okay for the military to have them guarding our dictators in DC though.

I'm limiting myself to all the "former military" comments saying how it's a weapon of war and how their dad just had an old shotgun on the farm. It's still hard to keep up

Those guys and gals have fully auto M4A1s and M249s.
The vast majority of the public is still at a disadvantage going against those weapons (which is on purpose).
Now they want to wittle away and widen the armory gap.

Maybe I don’t technically NEED one, but they sure are fun. Also I just want one and there’s no legal reason that I, a responsible adult with no criminal history, can’t have one if I want.
Unfortunately, I have a strong premonition that I’d lose it in a boating accident at some point. That happens to me a lot.
