I have been saying since the accusations against Trump...... What the heck does anybody think can be done in today's day and for that matter is there anything that isn't completely totalitarian that could be done
And how on Earth are we going to make it some kind of illegal thing for the candidate? how do you prevent people in a foreign country from getting on the Internet or on phones and trying to work on behalf of an American candidate?
Are we going to have some sort of weird authority that scours the internet 4 for an activity and blocks it? What could go wrong with that?
I frankly don't see anything problematic at all whether it's Russia or Australia or anybody else. As long asare Americans are still free to vote as they feel when they get into the voting booth and those votes are counted in the way that they actually cast them then I really don't care about any of the rest of this.
It's all silliness. Of course people in foreign countries have preferences and then the age of the internet there's literally nothing that can be done about that

The funny part about that is it would require having people evaluate what statements by foreign entities online count as undue influence. Which is just hilarious
Moreover I can visit and share links from every foreign news agency in the world just about. So what's going to prevent me from posting an article from some other country that says that their leaders really prefer candidate X? Moreover doesn't it terrify people that there are people in our country that want me to be prevented from doing that?
And what prevents people from every foreign Nation from posting thousands of times a day on Twitter Facebook or any other social media or making phone calls
And doesn't terrify people that there are some in America that want to stop that?
Talk about the cure being worse than the disease

Ok, for one, this is in Australia not Seattle.
Second, is that really what you took from my comment? "Don't Tread On Me was a motto used by early founders and pioneers who had broken away from control of a totally oppressive government and established their own republic based on liberty and freedom--
And now used by foreigners outside of US borders who are actively interfering in every way they can to usher in a new, broad scope government that will take away those liberties that the heroes who coined the slogan fought so hard for.
I mean, the irony is thick. I said it pissed me off, not that I want them silenced.

First, you did read the link before typing that.
Second, why would a non-communist support a communist for president? That makes no sense.

A candidate can't prevent foreigners from unilaterally deciding to support them. And we can't prevent foreigners from using the internet's to try to influence campaign activities. I just don't see the problem as long as actual votes aren't being changed
and frankly if you want me to be more upset about something it bothers me more that our own press is completely in the bag than what some foreign groups are doing on social media
