That was a very sad story. If the Capitol guards who committed suicide after the 6th are counted against the death count, this guys suicide should count as well.

It is a disgrace what this corrupt Congress has come to. I hope all of their deaths are long and painful.

A Capitol rioter died by suicide as he was awaiting sentencing on charges of witness tampering, entering and remaining in a restricted building or grounds and two counts of disorderly conduct, officials said.
“Matthew Lawrence Perna died on February 25, 2022 of a broken heart,” his family said in an obituary. “His community (which he loved), his country, and the justice system killed his spirit and his zest for life.”
The Mercer County Coroner’s Office confirmed to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette that Perna, 37, of Sharpsville, Pennsylvania, died by suicide. NBC News has reached out to the coroner for comment.
One of Perna's lawyers, J. Gerald Ingram, confirmed his death by suicide.
The obituary said Perna attended the Jan. 6, 2021, riot “to peacefully stand up for his beliefs” and that upon learning the FBI was looking for him, “he immediately turned himself in.”
He pleaded guilty to all charges in December. Sentencing was set for April 1, court records show.
“The government had recently announced an intention to seek an additional sentencing enhancement with Mr. Perna, and he was psychologically frail and not able to deal with the stress of the situation,” Ingram said.
The obituary said he entered the Capitol through a previously opened door and that he did not break, touch or steal anything but stayed within the velvet ropes taking pictures.
"For this act he has been persecuted by many members of his community, friends, relatives, and people who had never met him," the obituary said.

The democrat party is the party of death. They are the pro-death party. very evil people are at the top of this party. Those who don't see it, choose to not see it.

It's sad that neither party members have reached out expressing sympathy and to conduct an investigation for wrongful incarceration, although dems don't care.

He pled guilty. He had bad lawyers who were trying to squeeze him for money by telling him he was facing 20 years when he wasn't facing anything near that.

Weird how you pick and choose where you want to play law and order

I saw this.
And no one cares. No other media reports so it must not have happened.
Other than a few times MTG or Gaetz says something about patriotic political prisoners, there are no other politicians making this a cause.
Can you imagine the united Demorats if Trump were president and his administration was going after them like Garland is going after Maga conservatives?
Republicans will do nothing of substance with the majority.

Because it is all one party against law-abiding, tax-paying citizens.

Although I agree with your statement you forgot all the republican's who are going along with it. We cant just blame democrats anymore. Democrat's stab you in the front but republican's stab you in the back and then lie about it. The sooner we strip away the division they want us to have the better off we will be.

Jokes aside, this one probably was a suicide. A law abiding productive member of society and family man loses his job and faces 4 years in the federal pen over a non-crime, or what is at best a misdemeanor trespass. I look at myself. If I was in his shoes, I lose my pension (with a felony conviction), my wife loses it as well assuming I predecease her, I miss my kids’ entire high school years including sports and activities, I’m financially ruined from legal fees, etc etc etc. Not too hard for me to see where he made that decision and it’s criminal. We’ve waited too long to fix this and I’m just as responsible as anyone as I sit on my fat arse and type.

Don't forget his very small town (everyone knows everyone's business in this valley) He own town judged him just for being there and walking within velvet ropes.
Also not one congress critter has said Ashli Babbit's death was horrific as they let the guy who shot an unarmed petite woman free.
