These shows are scripted and scheduled. And this hasn't been going on for long. It takes time to verify and get good information. They aren't going to just scrap their planned show to go in on something they have no verification on.

Well, CBS shows some cops but not a ton, the radio is pretty quiet but there are people gathering in areas for sure... not super large but enough.

It's a no-win situation for the DA and the Mayor. Either you kowtow to the shite-flinging horde and charge the cops, or back the cops (whose use of force was justified) and have the urban outdoorsmen tear your city to shreds.
