C'mon

I moved from the city about 6 years ago but still live ITP and obviously spend time and do business there.

While I'm thankful for the move,I haven't seen anything like this and still see friends in West Midtown and Midtown and let's face it real estate prices are through the roof in both places and pretty much all over the city proper.

Same here, though I went ITP-OTP-back ITP to Vinings.

The biggest issues I've seen especially since going back into the office is that the real cruddy areas of Downtown (south of Five Points) have gotten worse, and that there are a lot less people due to many commuters WFH.

That being said, this city (white/black/whatever) needs to get off its arse and not vote for a KLB clone or Kasim Reed in November (thank God she's declining to run again).

Central to North Atlanta are a bunch of manbun pussies.

I had to pick up some furniture a few weeks ago. I swung into a home depot for some straps. I was THE ONLY ONE without a mask.

It felt weird and awkward. We are a lot tougher on the south side. I told the cashier, we are a lot more freedom loving south of Atlanta.

I was in downtown Atlanta when LSU played Oklahoma in the semifinal game and that will be my last trip to that area I will make. Absolutely nothing there but potential bad things happening to you. Not worth it.

Same for me. That game was the last trip I’ll ever make to Atlanta.

The SEC needs to move the SECCG out of Atlanta. I’ve attended every game LSU has played there since 2000. Im never going back.

Never going back because something "potentially bad" might happen to you?

So I'm assuming you won't attend any more games in Baton Rouge for the same reasons?

BTW, where did you stay? I remember after the SECCG AND the semis, LSU fans on tRANT were all talking about what a great time they had and restaurants they visited.

I’m glad you’ve had that experience.

Meanwhile, the city council is passing a new ordinance mandating cameras be installed at every gas pump in the city because violent crime at gas pumps is surging. Crime is surging everywhere in this city.

So yeah, I’ve felt that tension and threat of danger and violence all the time living here the past year. I’ve had friends here who have been victims of it.

It’s bad and I refuse to make light of it.

You have your impressions, I have mine.

The irony is that L5P always considered themselves the rebels and misfits. Now, they are the freedom hating gulag.

I think they're a close second to the Emory area and Decatur.

Yea.its an unbelievably crucial election and a turning point for the city.

Gotta get someone in there who wants to invest in the police.I know two AA ex officers who quit due to KLM AND the new "retirement" plan the city implemented for em. Both guys are smart and hard working but saw no future and obviously had huge problem with KLM after last summer.

When I was coming up out in the sticks not too far from Macon, my old man and his friends used to make it a point to brag about how long it had been since they had been to Atlanta, and how they didn't give a damn if they never went there again. Did yours do the same? I used to laugh at 'em, but damn if I haven't fell right in there with 'em. lol

LOL. Easy bro, that's where I live (closer to N Decatur) While no doubt I'm surrounded by SJW's with Biden signs,I don't think of "freedom hating gulags" on my daily walks or at my local hangouts.

I always wondered where the city would've been had Mary Norwood won either one of the close elections she "lost" to Reed and KLB.

Are you really making generalizations about Atlanta based on your L5P experience?

What L5P does a good job illustrating, though, is how free-thinking hippies have turned into statist totalitarians.

I always get a nice chuckle reading about people hating on atlanta whose only experience here is the large intimidating airport or going downtown for an event. I've lived ITP for the last 7 years and haven't had any issues, mainly becuase i stay away from the bad areas. And yes every big major city in America has bad areas. Prior to minorities from coast to coast losing their collective mind last summer this city was perfectly fine, or at least no worse than any other major city. Then the minorities did their thing and the local govt didn't GAF and there ya go. Where I live though didn't see a single riot, broken window, or issue regarding any of the crap the left has stirred the last few years.

And lastly to the OP...you posted on teh 18th and said you went up Sunday (the 16th) adn the sign you flipped out about also said the 16th. For all we know that sign was up for 24 hours but has you shaken up, do you not find that strange? Also, are you new to liberal thinking? There isn't anything even remotely conservative about L5P, and the last 15 months liberals have gotten off on mask wearing and fear mongering, so why are you surprised that one of the most liberal havens in the city is all about mask wearing?

I live in Inman Park close to L5P and the militant attitude and people in L5P didn't really exist until the BLM/George Floyd stuff started. Before that it was just a laid back hippy atmosphere for the most part. The virtue signaling has gone through the roof since then with signs etc. It's a shame as the intown Atlanta neighborhoods had been on an upward trajectory until BLM/Covid/George Floyd/Rayshard Brooks happened. My brother and I walked through L5P to get to the Hudson Grille to watch the NCAA tournament and there was an ambulance outside El Bandido Mexican restaurant as some guy had been stabbed in the neck

I sold my place and am renting to see what happens the rest of the year and if another knucklehead is elected mayor I will likely just leave the state all together and find somewhere else to live. The Atlanta suburbs have become a cesspool as well infiltrated by Liberals and Illegal Immigrants. I would rather live in the city than out there at this point. The whole state will soon be one liberal shithole as Kemp has no chance in 2022. Been here my whole life but not afraid to pack up and leave.

700 votes and makes you wonder what woulda happened had the Emory area been annexed prior to the election.

Who knows. Maybe they clone Andy Young and bring him back .Unfortunately you don't see statesmen like him involved in COA politics anymore.
