Can’t afford food, but can drink beers with her daughter? Funny how AP puts zero blame on their corrupt government.

Idiots writing the article, or it's really cheap to take a boat around the South American continent.

the word "Illegal" is not in their vocabulary.
Probably because they had legal status, most MAGA types are ignorant as to how Venezuelans came here and their status.

The worse part of this story is that these numbers need to go up exponentially

In some places the American dream is living in poverty. So I don't feel for people in Venezuela.

Because they had legal status until Trump revoked it, the administration has been focusing on those who commit illegal acts while in the country.
Which is the right move.

Exactly! Folks, in what universe is it terrible for someone to go home and be surrounded by family? Just think of the song "I'll be home for Christmas". It's about longing to be home while knowing you can't.

ABC trying to make this into a Christmas sob-story. She abandoned her 12 year-old daughter & then illegally crossed into the United States. Her American dream wasn’t ended but her child abandonment & illegal activities were.

I am happy about this! Next time, she should try coming in legally and not be dependant on us to provide for her lifestyle.

Gómez was among the more than 7.7 million Venezuelans who left their home country in the last decade, when its economy came undone as a result of a drop in oil prices, corruption and mismanagement. She lived in Colombia and Peru for years before setting her sights on the U.S. with hopes of building a new life.
Trump’s second term has dashed the hopes of many like Gómez.

How stupid to illegally come to the USA and risk this trip twice. What a moron.
