Asian American Football Coach Told He Isn’t a Minority

He was told by an NFL team, when interviewing for a job, that he wasn’t the right minority.
“It was said to me, ‘Well, you’re really not a minority,” Chung told The Boston Globe.“
“I was like, ‘Wait a minute. The last time I checked, when I looked in the mirror and brushed my teeth, I was a minority,” Chung said. “So I was like, ‘What do you mean I’m not a minority?’ ”
The 51-year-old Chung did not name the team or the interviewer in the report, but he said he was told, “You are not the right minority we’re looking for.”

He thinks being a minority SHOULD be a consideration in the first place.
Not sure how that adds to the merit needed for that opening.

The fact that someone looks in the mirror, brushes his teeth and thinks “I’m a minority” is pitiful in itself.

White people worldwide are a minority. Asians and black people are majority of the population

Not sure of the list but minority official list is a little “specific”
I recall a coworker who had a very smart son applying for colleges ...he was getting scholarships but harder since he did not qualify as a minority...they were originally from India...
I was surprised...I think some groups are so small of a percent they do not even make it to the minority list...idk ....that was a while ago...things may have changed but the list I remember was not what you would have expected...

Agree, but I'm fairly certain that was an assertion of fact and not a plea to be seen as a victim.

He should point out the fact he is more of a minority then blacks .
