The war is in Syria
America is helping troops on one side
Russia is helping Syria on the other
During the Cold War was there a actual combat War? People were still charged with treason.
I don’t think it is treason, but I understand how it can be viewed that way by the military and intelligence. They believe cyber war is the same as what went on during the Cold War.
I have heard people on the board say what Trump said at Helsinki is okay with it. I know vets who are not okay with it. One is my uncle who still had a Trump sign in his yard and a bumper sticker on his truck. The sign went in the trash and he scraped the sticker off his truck. No matter Trump does he will never support him again. If he feels that way I’m sure there are many more. Even if it is 1% of people that voted for him it is still around 1 million votes. That could change the outcome of the election.
I don’t believe it is treasonous but it will still hurt him in the election in 2020

You can blame US government officials like others and maybe it was LBJ’s fault. It was a different time and the height of the Cold War. I guess you are one the people that supported John Kerry.
We went to Korea for the same reasons. The Soviet’s went to Afghanistan for the same reasons. Soviets like Putin will not forget how Americans helped Afghanistan. Just like my uncle who will not forget Vietnam.
