That's impt b/c he was an integral part and central figure responsible for assessing and affirming the state of cybersecurity in place for the 2020 election.
He's most certainly one of those with an engaged pucker as I type this.
The day before the election, Krebs stated there was "No evidence any foreign adversary was capable of preventing Americans from voting or changing vote tallies." (Nov. 4, 2020)
This is a big deal given his direct oversight of the certification of efforts to secure the election. I can't stress that enough.
Then, a week afterward (Nov 12), he was part of the now INFAMOUS joint statement put out by state/local officials and election industry vendors* who stated in no uncertain terms that, "The November 3rd election was the most secure in American history... There is no evidence that any voting system deleted or lost votes, changed votes, or was in any way compromised."
*The vendors included Unisyn Voting Solutions, Hart InterCivic, Election Systems & Software (ES&S), Democracy Works, and Electronic Registration Information Center (ERIC).
Then, on Nov 20, Trump canned his arse for reasons that should be glaringly obvious at this point.
Note that Trump later revoked (aka yeeted) his active security clearance during this current term (Nov 2025) - something Krebs had retained post being fired.
That cat is cooked.

What the appropriate number of folks aren't recalling is that Rafdensperger entered into an illegal consent decree with Gap-toothed Mammy Stacey Abrams' lobbying group to waive even that easily-subverted signature matching because folks got the flu.
So wait, your argument is that this makes the votes a criminal matter, now?

I'd love to see mass arrests on Friday, but I'm not holding out hope on the timing there just yet. I'm certain it will come, but only at the appropriate time. Only Trump and the others with their hands on the hammer know that variable.

In all of that rambling, what crime are they alleging, exactly?

Humble yourself this fine Wednesday morning. You have 480k+ posts on this website. I haven't read them ALL, but I've read enough to know that there are plenty of clunkers

Our Dramatis Personae is running to beat the band with the pre-bunking of whatever Trump is about to discuss tomorrow night.

Hope for the best and expect nothing to happen.

I have no idea, and arrests alone aren't really valuable to this discussion.
as usual...your mind takes many many turns. From the OP:

The 17th would be a fitting day for arrests, don't y'all think? A Friday no less.
FTR I have no idea IF any arrests will be made. If I had to guess...arrests will be made. Just not in the timeframe stated in the OP.

They are afraid Trump is going to release evidence of fraud in 2020, which Trump will use to declare a state of emergency, and exercise Executive power to secure the 2026 midterms.
They are TERRIFIED of whatever evidence Trump and his Intelligence heads are about to present on Thursday, and they are all desperate to preemptively establish the narrative that the evidence is not real, and that securing our elections is some sort of violation of democracy.
PANIC IN DC!

The sad thing is that even if they have overwhelming evidence, half the country won't believe it.

They've invested so much in this I can't imagine they don't arrest somebody, even if it's for an unrelated crime or a tangential process crime.
I don't know if you saw, but reports came out about 2 weeks ago that the GTOE was dead, as well, for reasons I've been trying to explain on here for years, at this point.

Under what authority could he do this? Serious question.

I don't know that he could. A more likely, imo, route that this goes is that they finally either pass the SAVE Act or he drafts an EO implementing it's provisions. Then, blue states refuse to follow the law. THEN comes the declaration of a national emergency.

Man, this is crossing some lines (dare I say, rubicon) that would have 99% of this board in an uproar if a Dem did it.
SFP and I have been warning about use/abuse of "emergency" powers over and over.

Over 425 US Marshalls have entered the arena. Wow!!

Why would they need to refuse when they could get it enjoined in courts?
This would be like his tariffs and birthright citizenship EO where he doesn't have the authority to implement this EO, so there would be a strong legal basis to enjoin it upon release (like tariffs and the BRC EO were)
