This is not a political attack. It has been discussed before.

What is the correct pronunciation of "Arkansas"?
The reason is SBH, during one of her speeches, called people from there "Ar-kan-sans". So why is the state "Ar-kan-saw"?

This sounds dumb

Pretty sure it's "Ar-kan-sons" and "Ar-kan-daughters."

It might be copying Kansas. Their people are Kansans.

No biggie.

This post was pointing out how confusing what is correct with the pronunciation.

Good link. It explains people in La. are Louisianians.
But some pronounce the state with "La-Weezy" and some with "Loozy".
Most people I've encountered here use 'weezy' for the state but they use 'loozy' for people in the state.

We were a state 25 years before Kansas so we aren't copying anything.

Yeah. The only people I heard use Naw-lins was Cajuns in New Iberia.
BTW, blacks in Shreveport call it Shrevesport.

I've always called it Ar-kan-sas due to Kansas.
