Aretha was racist, who knew? Guilt by association, isn't that how the communist left rules work?

Hold up--why do you insist on calling me by my real name on here? I don't really mind it--plenty of folks know my name irl, and I don't really keep it a secret, but you call me "Trey" more than "Tbird" on here. Odd.
Apologies. You have used it often enough that I thought you had no oroblem with it.

But don’t be disingenuous about little Parmen. He made a point about the HAT, not the relationship. If he had the skills, I have no doubt that he would have photoshopped the thing red.

I dont have a problem with it, like I said. It's just weird that you're the only one who refers to me exclusively by my real name on here. I know the real names of plenty of folks on here, and they know mine, but neither of us see the need to use them on here. Was curious as to what your reasoning was for doing such.

I'm not being disingenuous in the least. Nor do I GAF about y'all's apparent running beef. I couldn't care less.

The point stands either way, and you know it. The bottom line is that, given the extreme backlash celebrities (particularly black celebrities) would face for wearing Trump swag in the current climate, it's more than a little amusing to see yet another example of a celeb who apparently didn't have a problem with associating with him before his political aspirations.

Miss Franklin knew that Trump wasn't a racist, nazi, literally Hitler.

Name 5 conservative policies that you support. Naming military spending or the drug war is a cop out. Go.

And THAT is an interesting topic for discussion.

The pic is not dated, but she is carrying a stack of CDs, meaning that it was PROBABLY taken after his 1987 conversion to the GOP. (I bought my first CD player in 1986, but they were still pretty rare).

Franklin was a devout Dem, so those pics demonstrate that there was a time that BOTH of them were able to rise above the partisan divide.

We played this game barely a month ago. I do not want to derail any further, but feel free to,go,take a look.

Recent Thread

I have NEVER said that I was a “conservative.” I am a right-leaning libertarian who votes GOP. Most “conservatives” are devout statists. They just refuse to acknowledge that fact.

The very fact that you list the “drug war” as a rote conservative policy simply emphasizes that point.

Yeah, yeah ... “unnamed sources.”

For a "right leaning libertarian" you sure side with the left an awful lot.

I submit that you probably look at political ideology thru the lens of a one-dimensional spectrum something like the following

Libertarians do not really have a good spot on that spectrum. The following political plane from 2016 is more useful

My position is just below the second “R” of “libertarian.”. I think you would have significant difficulty finding many issues that would put me down near HRC... or even the more-centrist Kaine.

You will note that my position places me almost as close to Trump as to Johnson. I have said repeatedly that I somewhat align with Trump on probably 80% of issues. I just dislike him personally, which certainly makes me more willing to address the other 20% and less willing to join the MAGA circle jerk where I do have substantive agreement.
