Are you in favor of the death penalty?

I know this topic has been discussed at length, but I just finished "The Confession" by John Grisham. The book tells the story of an innocent man who was bullied by police into a murder confession and put on death row in Texas.
While the book is a fictional story, it still can make you wonder. I've always been on the fence about the death penalty, because both sides of the argument have valid points. I do agree that some people commit crimes so heinous that it's tough not to want them gone, but I would say you must make sure they're 100% guilty before it can be considered.
Let's hear it.

Yes

No. Government sanctioned murder is still murder.

I'm in favor of the death penalty. It's part of administering justice which is one of the only legitimate uses of government, IMO.
I recognize that humans are fallible and can get it wrong, but I also believe in the justice of God which happens regardless of what others do to us on earth.

100% in favor. We should make it a faster process than it is now.

In cases of 1st degree murder and extreme cases of child rape, absolutely. This is completely regardless of the killer's mental faculties. If someone is willing to commit such a heinous act then there is no place in society for them, not even prison.

I'm willing to take that chance. I am for it.

Yes. Some human beings should not roam this earth.

Some people just need killing.

So you consider war murder as well?

Only for federal crimes where there is no doubt.
Boston Marathon bomber for example or the Colorado movie theater shooter.
Both open and closed cases, should end with a bullet.

no, govt is too corrupt. It's not worth killing innocent people to get rid of people who should otherwise be eliminated.
our "legal system" is inherently corrupt. It does not seek truth. It's handlers seek to win. Trying to win leads to innocent people being prosecuted.

Well good for you but not everyone believes in the justice of god

Yes and while we are at it, I favor expanding it to include child molestation and rape...

I see what you're saying, and that's basically the story of the book.
DA's and other prosecutors who work for the government want the best record possible. This is especially if they're elected into their position. If the lawyer is hell bent and winning and doesn't mind prosecuting a person where the results don't fully show, that makes a shitty situation.
ETA: Not making it seem like this is the usual situation, though, but if there's anything the past couple of years have shown us, our government is not immune from corruption.

I was saying to myself in parts of the book, "Wow, this guy really is a fricking cuck." I still like most of his books though.

Absolutely when a heinous crime has occurred and guilt is proven beyond doubt.
There was also a time when treason against the US carried the death penalty. We could line up quite a few from the previous administration including Barry Soetoro, Holder, Clinton & Lynch to name a few.
"The Criminal Justice Act 1990 abolished the death penalty, setting the punishment for treason at life imprisonment, with parole in not less than forty years. No person has been charged under the Treason Act."
BTW, a liberal frick sociology professor gave me a D on a pro death penalty paper I wrote when I was in undergrad.
