I always found the White House Correspondents Dinner to be stupid and pointless except for the time Obama tore Trump apart for being a birther.

That’s becauee they could not confirm if it was true. As bad as our media is, they still have some standards. The whole reason Comey briefed President Trump on the particular parts of the Dossier is so that CNN could report on the Dossier. It’s called circular reporting and figs like James Comey and Clapper know how to play the game well.
