A/K/a hyper-nationalism, and Nazism is the easiest example (at the risk of Godwin's law).
Basically, hyper-nationalism destroys diversity by wiping out other cultures. This causes other cultures to go into self defense mode and gang up to destroy the hyper-nationalist threat. Which is exactly what happened in WWII.
Nationalism in the right moderation is helpful and healthy. Just don't go hyper with it.

Define white. Is it the absence of color, or is it like visible light and a combination of all colors?
Non-POC; I have a fishermen's tan so I'm part white, part POC...so I guess I'm a tweener

So your whole argument in this thread is for a select few not the majority on Nationalist.
Just because we are Trump supporters don't make us a Nazi.

I put my family's interest above all else. Since my family resides in the U.S. then I am inclined to support U.S. interests in nearly every instance.
I've never fully understood what people were talking about when they say they love the country. Do they love the government? Do they love the general population? Do they love a concept?
I love my family and a few select friends. Those are the people I would surrender all to protect. Since their welfare is tied, in large part, to U.S. sovereignty and success I suppose I could be called a nationalist.

I think the point is when the media or the left refer to white nationalists they're not referring to the majority. They're referring to extremists.
Not the people here who simply want America's interests first.
That seemed to be part of the OP's inquiry. And really this is just a case of if the shoe fits wear it.

America first obviously. But it doesn't necessarily have to be at the detriment of other countries.
Of course it doesn't have to be. But, by definition, if that is the choice, then so be it.

Found that dipshit that can’t read sarcasm
Perhaps a few lessons in how Internet discussion actually works is in order.
Without an indicator such as voice inflection, facial expression, etc. Typed words are usually taken at face value unless a poster and their views are well known.

There are different types of nationalism. Ethnic nationalism, of the type that drove both World Wars, and countless other conflicts since the Peace of Westphalia, I do not support. American civic nationalism I do support.
The problem is that people are extremely careless with these definitions. Pretending nationalism has always equated to patriotism is to ignore the history of the word, and history itself.

This one was pretty obvious dude. Just take the L and move on

How about reading my other post to see what my political views are before calling me a liberal idiot.

A lust for power and expansion drove the World Wars.
The ethnic cleansing was just one of the vehicles used in the ruthless grab for power.

This is a very large site. Posters can be here years and never encounter another particular poster.

By definition I am both, a cracker and a nationalist.
Posted on 2/26/20 at 9:04 am to SavageOrangeJug
I would argue that inorganic, forced multiculturalism is more dangerous to the United States than any form of nationalism. The former breeds a dangerous combination of victimhood and resentment, which are two ingredients needed for conflict.

This is to ignore the development of the idea of Lebensraum in the fin de siecle period, its influence on Imperial Germany and its influence in the Third Reich. The ethnic cleansing was the specific goal of Septemberprogramm of Imperial Germany, signed off by von Bethmann-Hollweg himself, although secretly. Hitler was even more explicit.
Again, German nationalist notions developed all through the 19th century, including volkisch, which was characterized by overt antisemitism and anti-Slavism by the time Lebensraum was developed.
People generally underrate the ethnic nationalist movements of the past for some reason, and then downplay them for no real reason.
Ethnic nationalism has been a disaster everywhere it has been tried. It led to population transfers, genocides, and untold suffering, but for some reason, people continue to downplay it.
