Turks tend to be more moderate and civilized than Arabs or SubSaharan Africans, but they have Islamist hardliners same as any Muslim culture.

They're like the crust that forms on top of a pile of cow shite. It has dried out a bit, doesn't stink quite as badly, and isn't quite as messy, but it is still cows shite and if you go poking at the dry veneer too much you'll quickly find that just beneath the surface is just as foul as a fresh pile. Your boots are still gonna get messed up if you step in it.
