The Ohio thread got me thinking...

It seems as if the worthless liberal cockroaches are spreading and infecting surrounding states.

Is anything actually trending MORE red?

Thank God I live in a state (TN.) that will not be blue in my children's lifetime.

The Midwest is the only geographic region trending red.

Florida was trending red until they started allowing all non citizens to vote like they are doing right now.

Minnesota is fools gold to me. It always looks like a chance but never comes through.

Michigan going all in for Stab scares me.

And I’m not sold we have PA.

Two US house seats in Minnesota flipped from Blue to Red. If I’m not mistaken they were the only ones the DEMS. Unfortunately, they were offset by Blue gains in other districts.

Michigan and Wisconsin just elected Democratic Governors, and Iowa saw two congressional districts flip blue.

Ohio and Iowa seem to be trending more red. Indiana has become deeper red (they voted Obama in 08).

Florida is still the legit 50/50 state it’s been for 2 decades.

Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania seem to be trending slightly red but not quickly. I think they continue to go more red if the Dems keep up the idiotic SJW crap and anti white rhetoric. These states are where the GOP needs to pour money to counter the loss of Nevada, Colorado, Virginia

Lol. Michigan is definitely not trending red. Trump took that state and if the vote were today he would definitely lose.

To be fair Walker in WI has been there awhile, at some point fatigue sets in.

I don’t take a midterm election against the incumbent party as an overall trend. 2020 will tell the tale

I moved to Nashville in 2002.
This state is much more blue due to Nashville’s explosion since 2010.

The most recent presidential data we have (2016) shows the state trending red

It is VERY dubious to use midterm elections to gauge whether a state is trending blue or red on national level. In fact, there is zero correlation between midterm elections and the subsequent presidential election

As to Michigan, stabenow won her election by 6 points

In 2012, she won by double digits

That is an R trend to

Dude... when you're talking about trends I think it's blatantly obvious that you use the most recent data along with data from before that. Otherwise what is the point?

But even if you want to use presidential election data only, you have to realize it was just Hillary being a really bad candidate. I'm sorry but if we get any sort of charismatic candidate Republicans are going to go down hard

If you look at history, midterm and off year elections, especially state level elections like governor, are not correlated at all with the state's presidential trends.

Did JBE's victory in 2015 mean that LA was trending blue in 2016? Nope.

Did Scott Walker's victories in 2010 and 2012 show that Wisconsin was lost for Obama? Nope.

Did Scott Brown's stunning victory in the 2010 massachusetts senate election mean the state was abandoning Obama? Nope.

The fact is dude, and you can go back and look at every single midterm election we have data for, they do not foretell what happens 2 years later on presidential level.

Perhaps now the Republicans are beginning to understand that Democratic and Independant votes matter.

As was said in Watchmen, the Democrats are now telling the Republicans “Now you understand. I am not locked in here with you. You are locked in here with me.”

Get used to it GOP. I’m black and a Democrat. And I vote. And so do my friends. And so do women, and gays, and all the others that you want to keep away from the polls.

Looking at some of the stuff on the ballot they voted in and few other things it seems like Colorado has a want to vote Red but just not for evangelical/neocons/old guard GOP that only talk about social issues during election time.
