It would be awesome if one of the major networks had the balls to rebroadcast their coverage of the moonwalk as it happened; start one hour before Armstrong comes out. No commercials, no modern commentary; just as it was in 1969.

Just watching the Saturn 5 F1's fire-off is worth it.

Don’t know if we really went to the moon and don’t really care. All I know is, I don’t trust those appointed above us.

Impossible. All of the American symbolism, toxic masculinity and exceptionalism of this Republic would be more than today’s prog filth could handle and they would be offended and demand all references to this obvious show of privilege be stricken down. How DARE we flaunt our exceptionalism to others! And WHY was there NO acknowledgement or acceptance of any LGBTQ astrozezes?

DirecTV goes down when a cloud is overhead but we live-streamed from the moon 50 years ago...

I'd pay a premium subscription for a channel like this.

Nothing better than a live stream from the moon in 1969, because live tv was easily accomplished, especially from the moon, in 1969. I just can't understand why we won't go back for another live stream, from the moon..

Unfortunately our government stopped paying the cable bill up there. You'll just have to settle for footage from 1969... On the moon.

I'm not sure if you're serious or not, but the multitude of HAM radio operators who verified the transmissions want a word with you.

PBS once did this with a series called "As It Happened." It wasn't at the same time it happened, though (like the first moon step at about 9:54 p.m. Central Time). They did the moonwalk and Nixon resignation, maybe others.

ETA: PBS used the ABC News coverage of those two events.

But as someone else said, most people wouldn't care and would find it dumb. However, the primetime repeats of I Love Lucy and The Carol Burnett Show did well in the ratings, but that's entertainment versus Walter Cronkite with Vitalis-slicked hair and horn-rimmed glasses.
