Youre literally trying to make this an issue of extremes, life dont work that way.

Ok thats fair. I dont understand why we have to take everything to its limits and not use our brains. A situation where a kid accessed the guns by using and angle grinder to open a safe is not the same as him just looking in his dad's clothes closet and finding a gun with plenty of ammo.
Even if you cant afford a gun safe...you can at least hide ammo. A 14 year old kid cant just waltz into Academy and buy ammo for a rifle

You're talking about a hypothetical policy that will be written and enforced by faceless bureaucrats.

Lets put it this way...if your kid threatens my kids school and after being interviewed by the FBI, he used guns you just had laying around to come shoot up the school and killed my wife/child, you better hope the state locks you up safely behind armed guards

Yes I believe people deserve to be held accountable when their negligence harms their neighbor...even if it conflicts with your dogmatic idealism

WTF are you talking about? You're said something about using your brain, and I'm telling you who will be enforcing this. It ain't two people having a hypothetical discussion, it's the same system that recently has been used as a political tire iron. If you trust them enforce this in some rational, even-handed manner, "let's use our brain" you're a fool. People like this are how 4 year olds get suspended by biting a pop tart until it vaguely looks like a handgun.

Babble on all you want to. Im fully aware of how our political system works. You arent convicted by a faceless bureaucrat, but by a jury of your peers. IF this father was negligent and it led to people being murdered by a person he raised, yes he deserves justice.

No info I can find on what he was shooting, which suggests to me it wasn’t a ‘Weapon Of War’.

From my perspective it’s a good thing you didn’t pass those genes on. My kids and grandchildren will have enough idiots to deal with already

Why not search out exactly why this school shooting anomaly is happening. Is it the too many rats in a cage thing? Is it violent video games or any of the standard drugs handed out to school kids to alter their behavior? What broke that kid to the point he killed teachers and classmates?

There is a problem here and, per capita, radical trans terrorists are more out of control than radical muslims could ever dream of. I'm still wholly convinced we'll find the same thing with Thomas Crooks when info becomes accessible in 50 years

I think Crooks was a lot like Stephen Paddock. No clear motive and its highly sus. But I'll take Occam's razor. Dudes who had nothing left going for them in life so they just wanted to cause infamous moments in history.
