More than 4,300 recovering coronavirus patients were sent to New York’s already vulnerable nursing homes under a controversial state directive that was ultimately scrapped amid criticisms it was accelerating the nation’s deadliest outbreaks, according to a count by The Associated Press.

AP compiled its own tally to find out how many COVID-19 patients were discharged from hospitals to nursing homes under the March 25 directive after New York’s Health Department declined to release its internal survey conducted two weeks ago. It says it is still verifying data that was incomplete.

Whatever the full number, nursing home administrators, residents’ advocates and relatives say it has added up to a big and indefensible problem for facilities that even Gov. Andrew Cuomo — the main proponent of the policy — called “the optimum feeding ground for this virus.”

quote:

It was the single dumbest decision anyone could make if they wanted to kill people,” Daniel Arbeeny said of the directive, which prompted him to pull his 88-year-old father out of a Brooklyn nursing home where more than 50 people have died. His father later died of COVID-19 at home.

This isn’t rocket science,” Arbeeny said. “We knew the most vulnerable -- the elderly and compromised -- are in nursing homes and rehab centers.”

Told of the AP’s tally, the Health Department said late Thursday it “can’t comment on data we haven’t had a chance to review, particularly while we’re still validating our own comprehensive survey of nursing homes admission and re-admission data in the middle of responding to this global pandemic.”

How many counts of negligent homicide should Cuomo get?

Or, if they have to do an end around, how many cases of him violating people’s civil rights should he be charged with?

Gov. Cuomo has a very simple message to the residents of any nursing home...

MSM & Cuomo: This is Trump's fault for not telling Gov. "Rocket Science" Cuomo not to do that!

Also MSM: oh, look at Fredo waving a giant Q-tip at his big brother, awwwwww!

I'm actually stunned AP is doing
research and reporting on the story.

It's getting way too big for even the MSM to ignore.

The AP workers likely have family in those nursing homes who died or got put at risk.

This is a case of the media being clustered in NYC biting Cuomo in the arse.

He had a golden opportunity to replace Quid Pro Joe at the brokered convention. Just like everything else he touches, it turned to a steaming pile of shite.

This is not a surprise. Killing old people is a close second to killing babies on the left wings to do list

I have been thinking that there were nursing home residents being sent back to the nursing home to recover, which is what Louisiana is doing

This sounds like sending the general public into nursing homes to recover

Will be especially interesting if they went into private rooms or not

If they allowed a Covid positive person to be a roommate of an otherwise healthy nursing home resident holy shite that’s insane

It's almost like Cuomo wanted old people to die to drive up the Wuhan Flu numbers.

Clearly the Democrats criteria is if you don't vote and/or are not likely to stand up and defend yourself then you are subject to termination...

Such courageous people...

Hide them somewhere where they could die alone, away from prying tv cameras, away from the Comfort, away from the Javits Center, and away from Samaritan's Purse. And to be sure, make sure the Nursing Homes Owner's got a kick back.
