Her name recognition is nothing compared to AOC’s. AOC as a nobody took out a Dim leadership person in the primary.

A communist putting herself at the mercy of the free market which by no means is a sure thing, compared to a guaranteed government salary of 175 thousand dollars a year and a guaranteed congressional pension for life after serving enough time?
Sure let's see how that works out for her.
She's now got free congressional benefits for life.
She has zero interest in actually doing work. Being able to gallivant as some NPO big wig making speeches and doing pretty much nothing while making bank is a far superior situation for her.

Doesn't she have to serve more than two years for the pension and other benefits to kick in?
I just looked it up and this is how the Congressional pension works.
quote:
Members who have participated in the congressional pension system are vested after five years of service.
A full pension is available to Members of Congress who are:
*62 years of age with five years of service;
*50 years or older with 20 years of service; or
*25 years of service at any age.
quote:
A reduced pension is available depending upon which of several different age/service options is chosen. If members leave Congress before reaching retirement age, they may leave their contributions behind and receive a deferred pension later.
Members of Congress do not continue to draw their same pay after they are no longer in office. The size of their pension is determined primarily by length of service but it also takes into account when they joined Congress, how old they are at the time of retirement, their salary and which pension option they chose when they enrolled. By law a member's pension amount may not exceed 80 percent of his/her salary upon retirement.
Members who were elected after 1984 are automatically part of the FERS, or Federal Employees' Retirement System. Members elected before 1984 were in the CSRS, or Civil Service Retirement System. In 1984, those members in CSRS had to choose to remain with CSRS, or switch to FERS. The members elected before 1984 could further choose between full CSRS benefits plus Social Security or CSRS benefits offset by Social Security. Members of Congress also pay Social Security taxes - please see the Fact or Fiction page on that topic for more information.
A further variant in the amount of retirement benefits received is whether or not members under either system choose to participate in the voluntary Thrift Savings Plan (TSP) open to all federal employees. Members under CSRS may contribute up to 5 percent of their salary and FERS Members may contribute up to 10 percent of their salary into this tax-deferred retirement investment fund. The differential favoring FERS members is because pension benefits paid out under the old CSRS system are higher than those paid out under the current FERS system.
Congressional pensions are funded the same way as those of other federal employees: through a combination of general tax provisions and contributions from the participants. Members of Congress in the FERS plan must pay 1.3 percent of their salary to FERS and 6.2 percent in Social Security taxes.

Isn't she kind of hoping to lose this thing? Then she's free to sign a 7-figure deal with MSM or HuffPo or whomever and really cash in at a young age.
I mean, she's dumb as a box of hammers, but money is money.
Guarantee this idiot will be a member of the View when the next girl leaves.

From her time at CNBC, Caruso-Cabrera has something many candidates in primaries don’t have: name recognition.
Agreed... she is very smart when it comes to the economy which AOC just can't comprehend. MCC will keep the race closer than people think.

Democrats are thin skinned as frick.
Trump would've thrown some witty barbs at them...and that's only after the media started lying about him nonstop.
Pelosi, Schumer, Biden, Omar, aoc, etc... if they just get asked a question that is not one of their preplanned, preapproved list of questions they'll answer .... they get extremely mad and insulting reporters or throwing them out.
If those dem bitches had to deal with 1% of the bullshite trump has to deal with regarding the msm on a daily basis... they'd probably kill themselves because they are so thin skinned and are unable to deal with any media pressure whatsoever.

quote:MCC cleaned AOC's clock in each debate. She had a fighting chance until CV19 ended her door-to-door campaign. I've seen no polling, but I'd guess AOC is up 10 points.
Does MCC have any chance to beat her?

After finally being goaded to participate in the in-person Parkchester Times debate on Wednesday, NY-14's Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez showed up to debate opponent Michelle Caruso-Cabrera. But she wouldn't take the stage and allow the event to start with the media or audience members in the room, according to the publication that hosted the event.
So if nobody is there to hear what she’s saying, what exactly is the point?

Got to serve 3 terms to get that.
