Anyone watching the new series "the way they see us"

I just started watching it last night it's pretty good...
(Spoiler alert,)
Pretty sad how things worked out for 5 boys...
The detectives and the prosecutor still to this day maintain that they did not coerce these boys into lying.. film shows police beating the teens...
The film does not depict a lot of the crimes that in it up happening That evening in Central Park by the group of 30 throwing rocks and bullying , beating people and things of that nature....
The film also shows Donald Trump in a very bad light, I guess that's not surprising.
I guess it's a case of jumping to conclusions via racial profiling mixed with political pressure to find a conviction on the perpetrators as quickly as possible...
Apparently Donald Trump had an ad for $85000 promoting that whoever did that to that woman jogger should get the death penalty.
Ending up being a guy from Puerto Rico who raped and beat the woman jogger, reported he had been sexually assaulted as a boy... In 2002 he confessed to raping several women
Sin is wicked and impacts so many
I think it's worth watching but I'm trying to read other articles to find out how accurate it is

Like most netflix documentaries, this one comes at you with an agenda and a one sided approach designed to manipulate your opinion. The procecutor wrote an article last week explaining the lies of this series, and she sheds light on what really happened.
Summation: they were part of the riots and guilty of brutally beating other people. They were not innocents; they were just innocent of THIS particular rape. It was easy to for the evidence to point to them, so it's not some travesty that they were charged. Due to them being falsely convicted, all the other heinous crimes they committed were overlooked and they were instead painted as innocent victims. They were NOT denied food and such.
I will find the article and link it here. Of course it is her one sided opinion, so take that with some levels of skepticism as well.
UPDATE: here's the link

And yeah, they were pieces of shite who were innocent of that particular crime. And I love how the latino guy who really did it was "abused as a child" and therefore was kinda not guilty either. Good play by his lawyer.
And now they get to be the latest TPOS "civil rights hero" like Trayvon and Brown and numerous others.
No more Rosa Parks and MLK. Now we've got this shite.

No thanks. Its a one sided netflix propaganda shitfest.

They were just a few good ole boys walking through the park to get to their college classes bruh
The only reason they made this right now is to use it as a hit piece on Trump

Fairstein is just trying to cya...she even continues to claim links between the boys, reyes and the rape when all DNA evidence, testimony and circumstantial evidence says otherwise. I would take a highly skeptical, dim view of anything Fairstein has to say on this matter. I'm not saying the film is 100% accurate, but Fairstein warrants more doubt than the film.

Eh. That’s not altogether clear either.

That’s just not true. There plenty of evidence, including their own testimony, which links them to the crime.

Why? Because the film effectively convinced you they were angels who were brutally abused by the racist system?

Their coerced testimony...reyes says he did it alone, only his DNA was found and it fit the MO for his other rapes which he committed alone. Considering how unwilling and how hard DAs and cops fight reversal of prosecutions, I think NY rolling over and vacating the convictions and paying out about $45MM speaks pretty loudly on the matter of their guilt/innocence.

Based on what I've read about the matter.

A De Blasio led New York paying them millions? Is that really some kind of big statement?

reyes says he did it alone
Reyes said he did it alone after the statute of limitations expired and while he was in the same prison as one of the “Five.”
A guy who psychiatrists said couldn’t be trusted becomes a Mother-Theresa-level truth teller when exonerating some park thugs.
“Coerced testimony.” That’s assuming facts not in evidence. There was a lengthy report on the investigation and nothing improper was found.
I love hagiographies written long enough later that no one remembers. They should’ve waited two more decades for this one. They might have gotten clean away with it.

Look at the rabid “oh Muh poor boys” posters on the MTV board. All of whom have obviously done no research into the matter
