This is the onset of the impending ice age that our elementary school science book warned us about in the 70s, before global warming became the new fad.

Canada is the same latitude and not experiencing such a dip in temperatures.

I wouldn't be shocked to see the European temperatures magically "forgotten" in the next global warming hooplah though.

Yep! And we are close to the 100s in the sweltering swamp of South Louisiana.

Macron is literally Hitler for not doing something about that. They should wear masks or something.

I know so much about so little that in the long run I know everything about nothing.

From the time that al gore invented the interwebs, they've been retconning the whole "next ice age" bit from the 70s. For a while, it was completely denied as ever happening. A time article escaped the erasure, and now its "some media suggested there was another ice age coming".

If only my mom had let me pack rat those weekly readers they used to hand out.

It’s mostly to do with air and water currents coming off the Atlantic than latitudes. Majority of Europe is north of Ohio but they still get mild winters occasionally.

Blow yo' mind:

Venice, Italy, is farther north than Minneapolis, Minnesota.

And much warmer than Minneapolis too. It doesn't get that cold there, I lived an hour north of Venice for three years and it only snowed a few times while I was there. Summer gets fairly warm too.

It is really nice here in Germany currently 51 where I am. A little on the cooler side but not unusual for here. Fall is going to come early this year though.

It is just weather.

Sometimes it is hot, sometimes it is cold.

You can expect when one side of the globe is experiencing extreme heat the other side can be experiencing a cool wave.
