I’ve gone 4 years without filing and finally got a reminder letter. It’s not a big deal if you don’t owe anything.
I didn’t file for 2024 and just got a reminder letter last week.

i didn't for 4-5 years when i was living like a drunken fool. never received any letters or visits from a man in black. well maybe i got some letters and just ignored them, don't really remember.
when i got clean and sober - 4.17.23 praise jah - i addressed it and hired one of those tax relief services a buddy worked for. it wasn't like you hear on commercials where they reduced 80k in debt down to 1k - i still had to pay some $ - but it was much less than the irs originally demanded
do not recommend. i got off pretty easy but i doubt that's the case for everyone

When I graduated LSU and left I didn’t file Louisiana taxes for that year. 4-5 years later I got a nasty gram from them so I filed and got about $70 back.
