sports and the the athletes that play them are entertainers. Entertainers exist because of consumers willing to pay for said entertainment. So, yes, it is all about us, the consumers. If the fans stop paying to watch sports, sports no longer exist as a way for athletes to make money.

I used to love me some sports. As I have aged and sports has evolved more toward a confluence of politics and entertainment, my give damn for sports is about busted. That includes my SJW, virtue signaling LSU Athletics Department.

Sports teams, sports media and universities can only indirectly call me a deplorable, white, systemic racist so many times. Peace.

My desire to watch sports has steadily diminished. I left the NBA years ago, followed by the NFL. NFL games just put me to sleep. I watched the Braves for many years, but haven't lately. I'm down to Auburn football, basketball, and baseball and I'm not sure how much longer that will last.

I was going to buy LSU vs Rice tickets but I decided not to. Don’t feel like wearing a mask and shite. All of this has ruined sports for me. I don’t even care about the kneeling. It’s the divide going on in this country. Sports just seem so unimportant atm.

And do all consumers conform to the same way of thinking the OP does?

The athletes and coaches- many of them minorities- are speaking out. If you disagree, don't watch

As for pro sports, watch MMA or professional boxing. It's less susceptible to team groupthink.

Not feeling any sports right now. They can all take the year off for all I care.

They need to realize that apathy from your fans is the worst thing that can happen.

Prediction: more than 90 percent of the fans complaining about not watching cfb indefinitely will watch the next time it's on

People did this during integration

I miss minor league baseball, but that's only because I love our local park.

Just curious how the majority of the players of the NBA and NFL would turn out without their millions?

They need to shut up, do their jobs and consider who pays their ridiculous salaries. Advertisers will bolt when a vast majority of prior fans give all of them the finger!

What are pro sports?

The thing they do between refusing to play for millions and preaching to me how greedy I am?

It's certainly not about the 14 killed and 104 shot in Chicago on Father's Day. Guess they didn't matter.
