BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - School officials with Northdale Superintendent Academy are asking for the public’s donations ahead of the school’s sneaker ball. The ball is set to take place on the school’s campus on Friday, May 9. According to the school, the event will offer high school students a “unique and celebratory experience that blends formalwear with sneaker culture.” During the event, the young people are invited to wear suits, tuxedos, dresses, and a pair of sneakers. To ensure that every young people can attend the sneaker ball with confidence, school officials are asking the public to donate new or gently used suits, tuxedos, dress, shirts, ties, belts, socks, and sneakers.
“We want them to feel seen, celebrated, and valued. This is about more than clothing. It’s about affirming their worth.”
Nothing affirms one’s worth like a pair of donated sneakers for the sneaker ball.
