As I said, I am wondering if the attacks on him matter among those who actually will vote in the election.

I don’t trust polls any of the three could win.

Correct. NYC consist of 5 boroughs. Manhattan is only 1 of them. The rest are not like it.

Haha, you dismiss the opinions of others while promoting your own ignorance.

The Democratic party nominates a communist who's never had a job and since the Republican nominee won't drop out it is his fault NY is going get a communist mayor? You guys are all about accountability.

This is how you end up with a commie.

You have to play the cards you are dealt. Silwa won’t win no matter what. Coumo would be better than the commie. Anyone who hates commies will split votes and the commie will win. Thats just the truth.

Its going to be fun watching him destroy whats left of NYC. And will be a good reference for people voting in future.

They will get what they vote for

You do realize you just completely contradicted yourself, right? If you don't have a deep understanding of NYC politicians how can you claim people are out of touch on the candidates?

In short you made a blind accusation without knowing wtf you were talking about, which seems pretty common for you

My daughter lives in Hell’s Kitchen NYC. She is a conservative in a VERY liberal field (professional dancing). Her thoughts are that it doesn’t matter what anyone tries to do up there the liberals have it locked down. She is frustrated because she has no other options for her career. We have discussed what I imagine will be a decrease in real estate prices as the wealthy leave the city.

She would like to see more of a police presence. Where she lives she doesn’t see some of the immigration issues that make the nightly Fox News.

If you were a builder, lets say 100 units of apartments. You have to charge enough rent to cover our note plus profit or you don't build right? So you build get full occupancy and the state of NY freezes your rent. Then taxes and insurance rise, which they always do, but your rent income is frozen. So you start losing money every month. Can't pay you bank back, bank foreclose, government takes over, taxpayers pay the note, a slum develops, crime flourishes, and it's eventually vacant. As a builder you go to another state. So the housing situation gets even worse. That my friend is the true story from one who has had rental property since 1978, including a 52 unit SEC 8 complex.

Thanks for the local insight. Our pastor's son had the same dilemma: NYC was best professional choice; moved his family to red state for half the money, but much better culture.

Thanks for the insight. Have you operated in a rent control environment?

Yeah she trains in dance in the city and is close to becoming a Radio City Rockette. I mean the Sorrento Stompers or the Kenner Kickers probably wouldn’t be a decent profession.

She does hang out in more affluent circles and is a bit insulated from things. Anxious to see what comes after the election.

What denomination would make NYC the best career choice?

Trivia tidbit: At the end of the novel (not the movie) Elmer Gantry the titular evangelist (an outright villain in the book) moves to the big time for a man like him: NYC

But that was 100 yrs ago

Personally I think it's great. The mayor has little to no power outside of the city and is somewhat beholden to the governor for a lot of things.

When Mamdani crashes and burns the city the governor will be forced to cast him aside or risk her already perilous position. In fact I don't see a scenario where this doesn't happen.

I see no downside to him getting elected.

The real irony is the growing number of ghost apartments where it's cheaper to take the tax loss than to get the "market" rate rent control. Then there's voices pushing for landlord vacancy taxes on apartments that are vacant .
