You won’t read in a history book that any civilization hated itself. You’ll read about the causes of the collapse of that civilization, and for example if the history is written by leftists the causes will be things like income inequality and militarism.

Lib here. Love the USA, always have, always will. Sad that modern conservatives have so much hatred for their fellow Americans, don't think America is great, and have so little confidence in its ability to endure.

America is not a cohesive country anymore.
A country only works when you have a unified people of a similar set of beliefs and values. That is after all what a country even is.

I have no data to back this up but it would seem to me that self-loathing is a symptom of a free society wherein the forces seeking to control the masses actively impose psychological controls and not a natural part of the evolution of democracy or capitalist largess. Conversely, a people ruled absolutely need no such subversity and those at the top would be more well served to instill more civic pride and illusions of individual wellbeing.

Ways of destroying it:
1 Little by little reinterpreting it through activist judges
2 convince the people that the document and entity it protects are shite and need to be changed
3 bankrupt the entity forcing a new entity to be formed under a new document.
