The blue radar is indeed a surface radar. Believe it or not we tried to make the sub as visible as possible on the surface so we wouldn't get run over. Conversely, only needed an over the counter radar for the surface operations ourselves.

Also up are the No 1 and No 2 periscopes and number 1 antenna. The hull crack is a bit concerning as the sail is reenforced for operating under the ice.

The Jimmy Carter is quite a unique boat. I know what we could do when it comes to spying and she blows that out of the water. Safe to say she was operating in NK waters.

Cutting cable lines, deploying SF, tracking subs, watching launches, etc.

Not a sub expert and can't quite make out a dagger or quill on the flag, but it looks like there may be at least one of them. Likely indicative of some kind of clan op.

Looks like she has a "V" shaped crack in her hull.

well maybe its for historical accuracy since jimmy carter was just as cracked in the head as that hull

Could mean many things. Likely something secretive

Since it involved a Seawolf sub, I would say so

That's not the Jimmy Carter. That's the USS Alabama, SSN-731.

Everyone in the Navy has tried to figure this out for the last 8 years. They're going away, though.

Here are some known Jolly Roger emblems via Twitter. Tough to guess what this week's emblem means - enlarged below.
