Because I speak Chinese. I’ve probably said “Naige” over one million times and really didn’t even make the connection between that and the racist slur until some moron directly accused me of being a racist when I was bullshitting with my Chinese tutor at a Starbucks. You’re missing the point. The victim may have been speaking Mandarin, but how the hell would the people there who don’t speak Mandarin know what “Naige” means? I don’t know how it’s pronounced, but it doesn’t seem like it sounds like n****r so forgive my ignorance. Do the two words sound similar when spoken? If the black dude thought he was being called the n word, then he reacted in whatever way he felt necessary, which I do not condone.
Where is your proof he said, “Naige”? I haven’t seen/heard anything indicating what started it other than the comments made by others in the train at the end of the video. Is there another video?
